Skill Assessments PowerPath screenings for Visual Stress Syndrome, Attention Challenges, Vision & Hearing, Phonological Skills, and Culturally & Linguistically Differences Career Assessments Smarter Plans aligned to career goals Curriculums aligned to the College and Career Readiness Standards Computer Literacy Career counseling Interagency referrals Transitions to College Qualified participants may enroll in this course concurrently while enrolled in other Adult Education courses. The course is designed as a general orientation and transition to college program whereby participants will begin to explore and understand the college environment, learn to identify and utilize campus & community resources to enhance the academic experience. General Adult Education This course equips students with the skills needed to strengthen reading, writing, mathematics, and computer literacy abilities so they are prepared to enter postsecondary and/ or the workforce. High School Equivalency Certificate (HSEC) Preparation In 2014 the State of Wyoming began to provide multiple pathways for individuals needing to earn a high school equivalency certificate. Today, students may choose to study for and take one of three HSEC exams: the 2014 G.E.D.®, the TASC, or the HiSET. Targeted instruction includes: Reading and Writing Social Studies Science & Mathematics English Language Acquisition (ELA) Program These courses are designed to help eligible individuals who are English language learners achieve competence in reading, writing, speaking, comprehension of the English language, mathematics, and EL Civics so that they are prepared to enter postsecondary and/ or the workforce in the United States. Adult Education Career Pathways Explorations and Trainings (CPET) Job Shadowing/Internship/ Apprenticeship Participants learning experience in this program will provide them with the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and expectations of a specific career through hands-on learning. Programming includes resume writing, job interview skill development and the appropriate use of other social capital skills as needed for careers. Career & Technical Education (CTE) CTE Explorations Participants may choose five credits from a selected list of CTE accredited college courses to concurrently enroll in while enrolled in Adult Education. The primary objective of this program is to allow participants who have, through career planning, indicated an interest in attending post-secondary but remain undecided in a career pathway the option to explore various career and technical education courses. CTE Programs of Study High skill level participants who have a more defined career plan will be permitted to enroll concurrently in an accredited CTE program of study at EWC while completing other Adult Education courses. Workplace Literacy Workforce literacy courses are designed to meet the needs of local employers and enrolled participants. Social capital skills, computer literacy, academic skills and other work readiness skills are addressed. Programming WE CAN HELP! ALL AT NO COST!
