(1) Programs in elementary and secondary basic skills, including programs leading to a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate. (AB86)

(2) Programs for immigrants eligible for educational services in citizenship, English as a second language, and workforce preparation.(AB86)

(3) Programs for adults, including, but not limited to, older adults, that are primarily related to entry or reentry into the workforce. (NEW to AB104)

(4) Programs for adults, including, but not limited to, older adults, that are primarily designed to develop knowledge and skills to assist elementary and secondary school children to succeed academically in school. (NEW to AB104)

(5) Programs for adults with disabilities. (AB86)

(6) Programs in career technical education that are short term in nature and have high employment potential. (NON-CREDIT CTE for AB104)

(7) Programs offering pre-apprenticeship training activities conducted in coordination with one or more apprenticeship programs approved by the Division of Apprenticeship Standards for the occupation and geographic area. (Modified for AB104 from “apprenticeship” in AB86)

• AB86 - Planning Grant– Build trust during the planning phase, form

relationships across the different systems– TASK: To develop a regional plan submitted March 1,

2015. (Developed from August 2014-February 2015)– Involve representation from all members present, by

program area, including some community partners– Develop governance structure for leadership

• AB104 – Adult Education Block Grant– Implement Three-Year Regional Plan– 3 program areas set as first priority areas based on

demographic data (address gaps in service):• High School Diploma/High School Equivalent• ESL• Basic Skills

– Transition is key, to bring students from the Adult Education programs to post-secondary.

• Colton Joint Unified – Opened new programs – enrolling over 375 students in just one semester.

• Redlands Unified – Co-located services to the CRY-ROP campus increasing the enrollment & programs.

• Rialto Unified – Building the foundation to apply for accreditation and WIOA funding by standardizing assessments and curriculum.

• San Bernardino City Unified – Increased the number of days and times programs are offered in multiple program areas.

• Yucaipa-Calimesa Unified – Relocated adult school closer to students, hired a dedicated full time Principal for the location, received 6-Year WASC. (Ribbon cutting ceremony August 15)

• San Bernardino Community College District – New leadership, working on non-credit and transitioning students to post-secondary.

• San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools – Provides cross-county CTE programs.

Student Data Submission

• August 1st as a consortium student data was submitted and in the Adult Education programs we reported …

• 7,408 Students Enrolled in 7 AEBG Program Areas for 2016-17 – (Does not include the college data, the State AEBG

office will pull that from the CCCCO MIS system).
