How do we cherish a love that is ephemeral?

MAJOR PROJECT Diploma Level 02 - Semester 02

ABSTRACT The story is about cherishing each other beforeit's too late. In this planet, there were aliensborn with limited lifespan. These two alienswere a couple named Eek (guy) and Aya (girl).They have a countdown device attached ontheir bodies. Green color signifies you're safe,while red, signifies that your life is about toend soon. Eek has the idea to build a devicethat can prolong their life. He has decided tochallenge their fate. But the day he has thisidea is the day he gets further from Aya, andhere the conflict comes in. The title 'e•Liens' is a combination of twowords, e stands for ephemeral and Lien is afrench word which means bond, the meaningbehind the title explains the whole story itself.

STATEMENT


Adrianne Tolentino is a Singapore-based Filipino artist who specialise in 3D Animation. Her aim in life is to make people smile and to share a positive outlook in life and from that, she chooses animation as her number one tool to achieve her goal. Her interest in cartoon and animation led her to explore animating on her own not too long ago. She first developed an interest in stop-motion animation, later then she found herself amazed by 3D animation. She achieved her Bachelor Degree in Animation Arts with First Class Honours at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore.

She has a good time management and would always prefer to work with a well-organised schedule. She is hardworking and she would do the best of her abilities to finish her work on time with good quality. She is able to work within a team efficiently and solve technical problems independently by means of research. She is able to multitask and cope with working pressure or tight schedule and able to receive critics from her supervisor with positive attitude.

In CG Animation, she is very much interested in creating the mood through lighting. In Autodesk Maya, she has been practicing lighting which includes basic knowledge of render passes, render layers and light linking. She also have the ability to do compositing of all the scenes with different passes in Adobe After Effects. She has basic knowledge in rigging such as; IK/FK spline, IK/FK switch, facial rig, toe-tap rig, non-flip knee. She enjoys modeling environment assets and texturing it afterwards.

After 5 days that the school year has ended, she started working on a medical company as a creative designer and marketing executive. She was welcomed to a brand-new world of communication design; designing flyers, newspapers and any form of advertising materials. As time goes by, she had developed her interest on creating graphic-design-related artworks but her heart still longs for the animation world. She quitted her job after 8 months and now trying her luck to pursue animation again.

Beside Autodesk Maya Software, she enjoys doing 2D illustration artworks in Adobe Illustrator, typography animation in Adobe After Effects and creating handicrafts. On a lighter note...she loves baking too :D
