Upcoming News at Mount Zion

*Shepherding Team #2 Is On Call This Week, October 7th to October 13th. Contact Betty Cashmark. *UMYF tonight will be dinner at Anthony’s in Clarksville. The youth leaders will transport youth from the church after Trinity rehearsal. Parents may pick their children up at the restaurant after dinner. Permission slips are required and can be found in the youth minister’s box outside of the church office or from the youth leaders.

*Attention to Parents! There will be NO Kid’s Zone today. We have KZ on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sunday’s of the month. Kid’s Zone is after children’s time in the service, it may or may not be announced! Please accompany your children after Children’s Time to the KZ room. *The Grateful Gobbler has been losing all of his feathers with the rain and heat we've had this year. Please help him get his feathers back by purchasing one for $30. Each feather represents a Thanksgiving dinner for a client at the Open Doors Food Pantry. *Special Invitation to the Congregation to join the Stephen Minister team on October 7th for our Continuing Education. Lisa Morrell, certified Life Coach, will be sharing with us how to “Care for the Caregiver.” Caregivers give of themselves. We need to remember to care for ourselves. Everyone is welcome to join us. Through Our Prayers: As a shepherd cares for the sheep, so also will Christ watch over His followers. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. Please pray for the Commission on the Way Forward as their final report has been released. They have brought forth three possible directions our UMC may be moving in the future in regards to the issues related to the report. A Special Session of the General Conference is scheduled for Feb. 23-26, 2019 in St. Louis to deliberate and make decisions on the way forward. *OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD KICKOFF – Will you fill a box this year and make a child happy, as well as introduce them to Christ? Boxes, information sheets and BOY/GIRL labels are in the East and West Narthexes. Filled boxes need to be brought to Mt. Zion on Nov. 11th and Nov. 18th. For each box filled this year, Mt. Zion’s Missions Committee has agreed to provide $6.00 from Mission Funds for each box turned in to provide a 12 week lesson book, The Greatest Journey, to enable teachers in local churches to instruct the children on how to be faithful followers of Christ.
