R-5 Candidates having passed HSC (Pre-Engineering/Computer Science) Part I & II Examinations fromany Board other than Karachi, Hyderabad,Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Larkana, Federal, Aga KhanBoard and Foreign Examinations.
R-6 Candidates who are residents Rural Area of the Karachiand have passed HSC Part-I & Part-II Examination fromthe Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi andhave passed Pre-Admission Entry Test of this Universitywith at least 50% marks or any other such test asdescribed in Para 4.2.3. Candidates having passedMatriculation / SSC from any school located in anyRural Area of the Karachi shall be given the preference.
R-7(a) Candidates – Real Sons/Real Daughters of theNED University Teachers are eligible for admissionprovided that:
i) The candidate has passed HSC and have passedPre-Admission Entry Test of this University withat least 50% marks or any other such test asdescribed in Para 4.2.3
ii) His/her real father/mother is serving in theUniversity and has put in a minimum of threeyears continuous regular service in theUniversity; or has retired from the service ofthe University after satisfactory completionof a minimum qualifying service or has expiredafter completion of minimum of three yearscontinuous service in this University.

R-7(b) Candidates - Real Sons / Real Daughters of theNED University employees other than teachersare eligible for admission provided that:
i) The candidate has passed HSC and have passedPre-Admission Entry Test of this University withat least 50% marks or any other such test asdescribed in Para 4.2.3
ii) His/her real father/mother is serving in theUniversity and has put in minimum of three yearscontinuous regular service in the University; hasretired from the service of the University aftersatisfactory completion of minimum qualifyingservice or has expired after completion ofminimum of three years continuous regularservice in this University.
N.B: The seats between the sub-categories R-7(a) andR-7(b) are inter-transferable, whenever considerednecessary by the University.
R-9 The candidates who are outstanding Sportsmenare eligible for admission under this categoryprovided that:
(i) They are domiciled in Sindh province and havepassed HSC (Pre-Engineering/Computer Science)Examination or equivalent foreign examinationwith at least 60% aggregate marks and have passedPre-Admission Entry Test of this University withat least 50% marks or any other such test asdescribed in Para 4.2.3.
(ii) They are domiciled in Sindh province and havepassed Examination or equivalent foreignexamination and have passed Pre-Admission EntryTest of this University with at least 50% marks orany other such test as described in Para 4.2.3
N.B. The following are the approved sports and gamesfor admission under this category:
Sports: athletics, boxing, swimming, and rowing.Games: basketball, cricket, hockey, football,
volleyball, badminton, tennis, tabletennis and squash.
(iii) Subject to the conditions that the candidate hasrepresented any sports Organizations/ Institutions/Universities/ Board or Colleges of Sindh Provincefor the last three years to be calculated from thelast date of submission of application form, theorder of priority for selection under sportscategory shall be as follows:
Priority Order:
1. Member of National Team2. National Champion (Individual/Team)3. Member of National Junior Team4. Member of Pakistan Universities Team/
Pakistan Boards Team5. National Junior Champion
(Individual/Team)6. Inter University/Inter Board
Champion (Individual/Team)7. National Youth Champion
(Individual/Team)8. Member of Sindh Provincial Team9. Sindh Champion (Individual/Team)
(iv) The criteria for selection for admission under thiscategory shall be:
(iv)1. Amongst candidates who qualify, not more thantwo sportsmen shall be selected for any individualsport/game. The merit list will be preparedconsidering the highest order of achievement insports.
(iv)2. Based on the order of achievements if there is atie between two or more candidates, their lowerorder achievements will be considered and theywill be subsequently rated in the light of the orderof priority list. In case of further tie a candidatewith achievement in individual event will getpreference over a candidate with achievementin team event. If still the tie is not resolved theolder candidate will get the preference over theyounger candidate.�(iv)3. T h e i n fo r m at i o nabout event, name of team and distinctionachieved by the team as well as by the candidateshall be supplied on the application form alongwith attested copies of other certificates issuedby appropriate authorities listed in Para 9(iv)6below. The achievement certificates must be inprinted form.
(iv)4. The membership certificate of each sport teamshould contain the name of the player, sport,team represented and the year of representation.
(iv)5. The Championship certificate of one sports teamshould contain the name of player, sport, teamrepresented, name of event/category/class inwhich player secured championship, year ofchampionship and position.
N.B: For priority order Nos. 1 & 4, only senior teamswill be considered. Any team without mentioningage group, will be considered as senior team.Normally teams with age groups are as under:
Senior Team (without age limit) Junior Team (under 20 years age) Youth Team (under 16 years age)
(iv)6. For the purpose of selection of the candidatesunder sports category, only those achievementsshould be considered, the events of which havetaken place before the last date of submission ofapplication form for admission. Attested copiesof all certificates are to be enclosed with theapplication form. Original certificates must beshown at the time of interview for selection. Atthe time of interview only those originalcertificates will be accepted for considerationwhose photocopies have already been providedwith the application form. The Sports Certificatesmust be furnished by the sports authoritiesmentioned below:

• For priority order Nos. 1, 2, 3 & 5 Secretary ofconcerned Sports Federation.
• For priority order No. 4 & 6 Director SportsHigher Education Commission/ Secretary InterBoards Tournament Committee as the casemay be.
• For priority order No.7 Director GeneralPakistan Sports Board and Coordinator/ DirectorSindh Sports Board.
• For priority order No. 8 & 9 Secretary concernedprovincial Sports Association.
• For membership of Pakistan Board Team,Secretary of Inter Boards TournamentsCommittee.
• For Inter-University Championship, Secretaryof Pakistan University Sports Board.
For Inter-Board Championship, Secretary ofInter-Board Tournament Committee
(iv)7. Selection of applicants will be made by SportsAdmission Committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor. The merit documents of applicantswill be verified by the nominees of the Committeefrom the authorities and/or sources whichCommittee considers appropriate.
(iv)8. Applicants admitted under this category i.e.Outstanding Sportsmen will be required toproduce an affidavit to the effect that they willrepresent the University in their respectivegames/sports whenever called upon to do so andthat they would not play as professional orrepresent any other public/private institute onpart time/full time basis. The required affidavitwill be produced on judicial stamp paper of Rs.50/- duly signed by the Notary Public.
Reserved Categories for Nominees
Each nominee under the reserved categories ofany nominating agency / body must have passedHSC(Pre-Engineering) Examination or an equivalentForeign Examination with Physics Chemistry andMathematics OR Biology for Food Engineering andBio-Medical Engineering under Category R-10(b),as recognized by this University with at least 60%aggregate marks and also eligible as per Clause 4.2.
R-10(a) Nominees who belong to Parsi/ MinorityCommunities and whose names are recommendedby Mr. J. H. Dinshaw (Dinshaw Family)
R-10(b) Nominees who are recommended by Latif EbrahimJamal (LEJ Foundation).
R-11(a) Nominees of UET Lahore/Taxila under reciprocal basisthrough Education Department, Govt. of Punjab.
R-11(b) Nominees of UET Peshawar under reciprocal basisthrough Education Department, Govt. of Khybar
Pakhtoonkhwa. Each nominee shall be charged thelump sum amount of Rs.38,000/-as educationalexpenses (excluding normal fee charges) to be paidat the time of admission to NED University.
R-12(a) Nominees from Balochistan whose names areforwarded by Education Department, Governmentof Balochistan.
R-12(b) Nominees from Federally Administered TribalAreas whose names are forwarded by States andFrontier Regions Division.
R-12(c) Nominees from Azad Kashmir whose names areforwarded by Nomination Board, Azad Jammuand Kashmir.
R-12(d) Nominees from Gilgit Baltistan whose names areforwarded by Kashmir Affairs and Northern AffairsDivision, Government of Pakistan.
R-12(e) Nominees from Federal Capital Area whose namesare forwarded by Cabinet Division, Governmentof Pakistan, Islamabad.
R-13(a) Nominees who are children of Army Personneland whose names are forwarded by WelfareRehabilitation Directorate, GHQ, Rawalpindi.
R-13(b) Nominees who are children of Navy Personneland whose names are forwarded by the DirectorPersonal Services, Naval Headquarters.
R-13(c) Nominees who are children of Air Force Personneland whose names are forwarded by theDirectorate of Education, Air Headquarters.
R-13(d) Nominees who are children of Rangers Personneland whose names are forwarded by the Director General, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh).
R-14 Nominees who are foreign nationals and whosenames are forwarded by the Economic AffairsDivision Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.
5.1(iii) Transfer of Seats
If the number of candidates in Arts, Commerce and Pre- Medicalgroups selected for admission under categories from R-1 to R-4falls short of the allocated number of seats, after admission andwaiting lists have been considered, the balance number of seatsin each of these categories will be transferred to respectivecategories reserved for pre- engineering group. Any further balanceseats from categories R-1 to R-4 as well as all balance seats inother categories R-5 to R-14 will be transferred as under:
a) All BE and BS (CSIT) seats to SF-1(a).
b) All remaining BS and BArch seats to R-1(a)

SF-9(b) Candidates who are Real Sons/ Daughters ofProfessional Architects/Planners of Sindh Provinceand have passed HSC (Pre-Engineering) Part I &II Examinations from Board of IntermediateEducation or equivalent foreign examination asrecognised by the University.
N.B: The candidate’s parent must have validregistration with the Pakistan Council ofArchitects and Town Planners (PCATP).
SF-9(c) Candidates who are Real Sons/ Daughters ofExpatriate Pakistanis and have passed HSC (Pre-Engineering/ Computer Science) Examinations orequivalent foreign examination as recognised bythe University.
SF-10(a) Nominees who belong to Parsi / MinorityCommunities and whose names are recommendedby Dinshaw Family.
SF-10(b) Nominees who are recommended by Mr. WaqarYousuf (S.S. International).
NOTE: i) Rs.1,200,000/- (Rupees One Million and TwoHundred Thousand only) shall be required tobe deposited in designated branch of the banksas Self Finance Fee for admission under theabove categories (SF-6 to SF-10).
ii) The seats between sub-categories SF-4(a),SF-4(b), SF-6(a), SF-6(b) and SF-9(c) are inter-transferable, whenever considered necessaryby the University.
SF-11(a) Candidates who are residents of Pakistan andhave passed HSC (Pre-Engineering) Part I & IIExaminations from Board of IntermediateEducation or equivalent foreign examination asrecognized by the University.
NOTE: Rs. 915,000/- (Rupees Nine Hundred FifteenThousands only) shall be required to bedeposited in designated branch of the banks asSelf Finance Fee for admission under theCategory SF-11.
SF-11(b) Candidates who are residents of Pakistan andhave passed HSC (Pre-Engineering) Part I & IIExaminations from Board of IntermediateEducation or equivalent foreign examination asrecognized by the University.
NOTE:(ii) For admission under the Category SF-11 (b), theapplicants will have to pay the Self Finance feeas under:
Along with Admission Form Rs. 215,000/-During registration in 2nd Year Rs. 100,000/-During registration in 3rd Year Rs. 100,000/-During registration in 4th Year Rs. 100,000/-
In addition to the Self Finance fee, the student willbe required to pay the admission/ Semester fee
5.2(iii) Admission Under More Than One Categories
Candidates applying against more than onecategory under Self Finance Scheme may onlydeposit Self Finance Fee for any one category. Incase of difference in amount of Self Finance, thehighest amount needs to be deposited.
5.2 (iv) Transfer of Seats
If the number of candidates in Arts, Commerceand Pre- Medical groups selected for admissionunder categories from SF-2 to SF-4 falls short ofthe allocated number of seats, after admissionand waiting lists have been considered, thebalance number of seats in each of thesecategories will be transferred to respectivecategories reserved for pre- engineering group.Any further balance seats from categories SF-2to SF-4 as well as all balance seats in othercategories SF-5 to SF-11 will be transferred asunder:
a) All BE and BS (CSIT) seats to SF-1(a).
b) All remaining BS and BArch seats to R-1(a)
