The Institute Indian Institute of Plantation Management (IIPM), centre of excellence and the first of its kind National Institute, was established at the initiative of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. It is co-promoted by the Commodity Boards of India, viz., Coffee Board, Rubber Board, Tea Board, Spices Board and Plantation Industry Associations. Two Year Post Graduate Diploma in Management : Agri-Business and Plantation Management (PGDM: ABPM) 2015-2017 (15th Batch) Reservation The Reservation for SC / ST / OBC / PWD candidates is applicable as per the Government of India rules, subject to meeting the other eligibility criteria for admission. Scholarship Meritorious Scholarships from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. State Government Scholarships for OBC Students. Sponsored Candidates In the admission process, sponsored candidates are given due weightage for their experience. Candidates can take admission under the following five categories of sponsorship: i) Sponsored by the Plantation Companies and Agri-Business Corporates. ii) Plantation owners. iii) Sponsorship by Central and State Governments. iv) Sponsorship by International agencies and SAARC countries. v) In addition to above, candidates can also be sponsored by NRls and PIOs. ABPM Study Abroad Program IIPM-study abroad program unit sponsors a variety of learning and non-credit courses that enroll students each year, making it one of the first and pioneer providers of agri-business and plantation management study abroad. The study aims at: Exposure to multinational companies and learning from reputed faculty from countries such as, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, USA, Africa and Indonesia. Establishing link between agri-business, commodity and plantations, coporatization and accademics expertise around the world. Foreign Students Foreign students can be admitted under the open and sponsored category. They may submit GMAT or any equivalent scores. Foreign students should be well versed in English language. Faculty and Students Excellence Pursuing PGDM-ABPM (approved by AICTE) in IIPM is indeed a fascinating dream for many students and practitioners. The multi-cultural ambience, various courses catering to the demands of agri-business industry and placement record have been attracting plenty of aspirants. Our professors are nationally and internationally recognized teachers and scholars. With core and visiting faculty members from industry, a faculty - to - students ratio of 1 : 10, the attention for individual development is ensured. The students will be learning the conceptual understanding of “ABPM” from the faculty and visiting industry resource persons who are creating today’s cutting–edge knowledge. Teaching and Learning IIPM contributes to students through three primary activities: teaching, research and corporate training-in which the Institute’s range and quality are excellent. IIPM’s faculty and academic facilities viz., library, computer centre, technical lab, knowledge resource centre, placement unit, campus and academic ambience are unsurpassed by those of any institutions. Perhaps most important, institute offers its teaching and learning transactions through lectures, video, seminar, group work, case method, issue analysis, cyber learning, role plays, cup tasting (sensory test for product innovation), market survey, field & industry visits, study abroad and guest lectures. Academic IntegrityPGDM-ABPM module structure, students’ academic experience to afford the greatest possible freedom and autonomy to design individual program requirements. Their plan of study includes work in their concentration, the core curriculum, expository writing and aggressive readings. About half of each student’s courses are devoted to pursuing an academic interest through super specialization in ABPM. Students admitted to IIPM have strong credentials and have proven themselves

Admission & SelectionEligibilityThe minimum qualification for admission is a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or institution with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of SC, ST and Persons with Disability) in agricultural and allied sciences or any other discipline. NRI / PIO / Foreign students can also apply.

The candidates must have a valid score of CAT / MAT / ATMA / CMAT exam. Selection will be on the basis of academic record, test scores, writing skill, group discussion and personal interview.

ABPM Professional Management Programme aims at providing management education to the entrants in the plantation and associated agri-business sector. The programme is aimed at combining the grass-root action with global competition and equips the students for managerial positions in Plantation and Associated Agri-Business Industries. The programme equips the students with the latest know-how (or) cutting-edge-knowledge in management and technology. The programme is unique in its kind, opening plentiful career advancement opportunities both in plantations and associated agri-business sectors. The entrants into the two year residential programme are nurtured and equipped to provide leadership to the industry. The professional expertise acquired by the students during the two year stay, through various modes of teaching & learning transactions, sharpen their managerial skills and enable to remain competitive in the sector they

Programme Structure:The programme is divided into 6 classroom trimesters covering 117 credits including Corporate Training Segment of 12 weeks. It integrates operational, behavioural, managerial and strategic aspects of business with a fusion of knowledge, skill, attitude, values and ethics. Industry – institute – interaction brings experts from plantation and associated

agri-business closer to the student community and the programme is customized to suit their requirements. The curriculum is also updated periodically catering to the ever changing need of the industry. The customization of various courses is ensured through plantations and associated agri-business related case studies, field visits including “reaching out” for sensitizing the students.
