Welcome to 2019
Sharon and I would like to wish a Happy New Year to all our club members and their families. Again, this
year we will be off and running to get ready for the upcoming events we have planned. Please come out to the
meetings and help us get started. If not, maybe you could stop at Harbor House and join us for a meal (see
calendar for details). Best wishes for a very happy and healthy new year.
Our annual Christmas Party was held on Saturday, December 1st at Moscatiello’s Restaurant. We had a
great time, delicious food and drink. Thank you to Linda and John Smith for another fabulous party.

Please pay your dues ($20.00) in January, if possible, so we can put this task to rest and move on to other

those people who joined the club after the August deadline and “do not” have to pay dues at this time.
***** Note: Harbor House Dinners: interested club members will be meeting twice a month at Harbor
House for dinner starting in January. We will have a get together at 6pm, the second and fourth Thursdays of
each month thru April. If you get the winter blues come out and join us. I am sure Joe will appreciate a little
extra business from the Club. See “Club Calendar” for exact dates.
Directions to our “Winter Location” at Halfmoon Town Hall: The address is 2 Halfmoon Hall Plaza,
Halfmoon, NY 12065 and the phone number is 518-371-7410. Directions are as follows from the Northway.
Take exit 8A follow signs for Grooms Road. Turn right onto Grooms Road. At Route 9 the name of the road
will change to Guideboard road. Proceed to the next light and take a left onto Route 236. About a mile down
the road you will see Town Hall on your right. The last intersection is Fellows Road. If you reach Hayner
Road, you’ve gone too far.
Remembering one of our own:
It is with sadness that we announce that one of the founding members of our club has died. Louis Dahoda
(Lou) passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2018 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s and
cancer. The first meeting of the Adirondack Shelby Mustang Club was held around Lou’s kitchen table in
1980! Lou restored many first-generation Mustangs over the years. His favorite model year was 1966. He
worked as a mechanical operator for Ford Motor Co. in Green Island for 30 years, retiring in 1989.
The club extends condolences to the Dahoda family and will be donating to the National Parkinson’s
Foundation in his honor.

Obituary of Louis Dahoda
Louis Dahoda, age 82 of Halfmoon, passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2018 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s and cancer. Born in Crescent in 1936, he was the son of the late John and Jennie Dahoda. He joyfully joins his wife of 57 years, Katherine C. Dahoda who passed away on March 9, 2016. Louis was a member of the 930 UAW Auto Union since 1959 and worked as a mechanical operator for Ford Motor Corp. in Green Island for 30 years until he retired in 1989. He was a Ford Mustang enthusiast and enjoyed restoring his own cars. Louis was one of the founding members of the Adirondack Shelby Mustang Club. He is survived by his sons, Louis A. Dahoda and Paul J. Dahoda, daughters, Debbie A. (Fred) Lohaus and Kathy M. (Terry) Nash, grandchildren, Brant and Kendra Dahoda, Frederick, Jake and Aaron Lohaus, and Sarah Allen and Stephanie Nash. He is also survived by his brothers, John, Arthur and Raymond Dahoda and sisters, Genevieve J. Lussier and Julia McHargue and many nieces and nephews.

For Sale:
➢ Two gas grills that were donated to club for use at the MAW picnics. We no longer use these grills
since we no longer do the MAW picnics, therefore, we would like to sell them. A minimum purchase
price was agreed upon by attendees at the meeting of $25.00 each. The grills are portable units which
fold up for easy transport. There was no interest from the members attending the meeting. See Walt
or Bob Jones if interested in purchasing one or both.

Hoffman Car Wash Tickets:
Ticket prices are $6.00 for the basic (exterior automatic wash only) and $15.00 for the deluxe (exterior automatic
wash and interior vacuuming & cleaning). They have no expiration date and are the cheapest way to get a great
Hoffman car wash. All the profits are donated to our local Make-A-Wish chapter. Please see Steve Freed at any
club function or send a self-addressed stamped envelope with payment made out to the club. Please indicate the
number and type of tickets you are requesting. Mail request to the club at P.O. Box 4427, Halfmoon, NY 12065.

Sunshine Club:
Please contact Phil and Helen Benner with information about any club members who may not be feeling up to
par or are in the hospital. As before, there isn’t a cost to the membership just a nice friendly communication
about our sick members. Phil and Helen Benner have volunteered to run this for us. We would hope you would
keep them in your prayers and thoughts and maybe contact them with a greeting now and again. Phil and Helen

Message from Vice President:
Newsletter Ads can be added to newsletter at any time. Price is $50.00 per year, based on April to April. Ad
prices can be pro-rated at a cost of $4.50 a month for periods of less than 1 year. Let's get all your friends,
family business's and people you do business with, on board. Ads are seen by over 100+ people per month. P.S.
Trailer ads are usually set by April 1st of each year. Cost is $150.00 for the first year and $100.00 each year
thereafter.
MCA NATIONAL SHOWS
***** The Western New York Shelby and Mustang club has been approved to bring a National MCA show back to
Buffalo in 2020. Dates will be July 31-August 2 at the University of Buffalo North campus.

The Mustang Club of America now has different tiers of membership. Standard is the $50 level, which includes
Mustang Times in the mail and online, Digital is $35, without a printed magazine mailed out and Associate is $25,
without any access to Mustang Times and you can’t seek MCA office (Regional Director or National Director) at that
level.
