In our Sunday morning worship service the following day, our pastor’s focal passage was the healing of a lame beggar (Luke 3:1-9). We all know the story. In verse 6 Peter tells the man “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—walk!” (NAS). Is the work of ADF not the same? Are we not the outreached hand God has equipped to serve others through agriculture? May we always give God the glory while continuing in His service. President’s Message

What a wonderful Winter Meeting in Vicksburg!

Many thanks to Jim Watson, James Henley and oth-

ers who helped to organize this meeting. I am espe-

cially grateful to Dr. Nelson Philpot for sharing in

such detail the history of ADF. It was encouraging

to hear the faithfulness and dedication of those who

have shown the love of Jesus Christ through this or-

ganization over the last 50 years.

The reminder that we still have a task to fulfill did

not end with the Winter Meeting on Saturday for me.

In our Sunday morning worship service the following

day, our pastor’s focal passage was the healing of a

lame beggar (Luke 3:1-9). We all know the story. In

verse 6 Peter tells the man “I do not possess silver

and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the

name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—walk!” (NAS).

Then in verse 7, “And seizing him by the right hand,

he (Peter) raised him up.” The miracle was by God,

but He used Peter to help the man up to walk on his

newly strengthened legs!

Is the work of ADF not the same? Are we not the

outreached hand God has equipped to serve others

through agriculture? May we always give God the

glory while continuing in His service.

Casting Bread,

Randy Graves.

Nelson Philpot (below) gave a comprehensive ac-

count of agricultural missions history and identified

the challenges ahead.

David Morrison (right) gave the Louisiana report.

The Louisiana Fellowship has been supporting an

IMB missionary in Eastern Europe for about 5

years now and contributed $8,500 in 2019. They

have also funded projects in Thailand and Mexico.

Pictured left is Gene Baker.

Jeff Palmer (below) gave an update from Baptist

Global Response. BGR is currently supporting 40

ag projects, many of them in closed areas. Jeff not-

ed that there are still many IMB missionaries do-

ing ag work even though there are now few

trained, vocational ag missionaries. There are

many opportunities for BGR and ADF to cooper-

ate.

Thank you First Baptist Church, Vicksburg, Mississippi for hosting

the January Meeting!
