  • We sit on the various university committees, run events, run campaigns, write submissions to government enquiries on your behalf and advocate for all students. The thing that most people dont get is how it all ties together. Whenever we run events or campaigns, the student response is actually what lends weight to our words when we sit on committees and thats where a lot of the real action takes place.

In short, we are here to make sure things are good for you at university and, if they arent, listen to you tell us what isnt good at university so we can work on fixing that. We have fortnightly meetings that any student can attend and speak at, raising issues you want discussed and acted upon.

Or if you dont want to speak in a formal meeting, find us on Facebook (Adelaide University Student Representative Council) and leave a message on our wall.

On Dit is Australias third-oldest student magazine, and in 2012 celebrates its 80th birthday. Famous Adelaide alumni like Colin Thiele, Shaun Micallef, and Julia Gillard (and Christopher Pyne!) have graced its pages. Now you can too.

If youre interested in contributing, come visit us in the AUU OWeek marquee, slide something under our door, or check out ondit.com.au. We cant wait to hear from you.

  • Ive really enjoyed all my German courses at uni, but it was really nice to get to the end and feel like you can really read and write interesting things in another language. My only tip is to make sure you still set aside time for learning grammar and proofreading essays I thought the tutor was going to cry when she read things wed written at midnight the night before, full of mistakes wed never have dreamed of making in first year. Its also really important to have the latest version of the textbooks if you can get them before the start of the year its really helpful. If youre organised early enough, you can order them online from Europe for a fraction of the cost.
