    Vacancies

    Applications are invited from Citizens of Sri Lanka for the Posts of

    Electrical EngineerClass II Grade IIin the Ceylon Electricity Board.

    Qualifications & Experience :

    (a) Engineering Degree (Electrical ) from a University in Sri Lanka. (four year

    Engineering Degree Programmes, which are accredited by Institution ofEngineers, Sri Lanka)

    OR

    (b) Should have passed as Electrical Engineers of the Institution of Engineers, Sri

    Lanka, completing the full course and the project

    OR

    (c) Any other qualification recognized as equivalent or higher in the same field by the

    Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (letter of recognition by IESL shall beannexed).

    Age Limit :

    Should not be more than 35 years of age at the closing date of applications.

    (The age limit will not apply to the employees of the CEB).

    Salary Scale :

    For those having the Chartered Engineer qualification either through IESL or IET (UK).

    Rs.75,320 5x1,350 10x1,400 96,070/- p.m. (K3)

    For others:

    Rs. 64,560 5x1,150 10x1,165 81,960/- p.m. (K4)

    Other Benefits :

    CEB Provident Fund, Employees Trust Fund, CEB Medical Assistance Scheme, CEBLoan Scheme, CEB Pension (subject to the CEB pension rules), Retirement Gratuity and

    other fringe benefits.

    Method of Recruitment :

    By an Interview.

    Place of Work if selected :

    Ceylon Electricity Board reserves the right to post the Engineers recruited to anylocation/s in the country decided by the CEB. Selected applicants will only be recruitedif they in writing agree to accept the post at the location decided by the CEB.

    Forwarding Applications :

    Applications giving full details of educational/professional qualifications, experience,

    present and previous employments (if any) and the age on the application closing date,

    supported by copies of certificates including a copy of the Birth Certificate and AcademicTranscript should be sent to the Deputy General Manager (Personnel), Ceylon Electricity

    Board, Sir Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo 02, to reach him on or before

    25th March, 2013 by hand or by registered post. The envelope should be marked Post

    of Electrical Engineer, Class II Grade II on the top left hand corner. Applications

    did not reach on this date (irrespective of the date of posting) will not be considered.

    Candidates in State Service/Statutory Board and/or Corporations should be forwardedtheir applications through Heads of relevant Institutions who should state whether the

    applicant can be released or not if selected.

    Note :

    1. Any application received after the closing date or does not confirm to the above

    requirements will not be entertained. Depending on the number of applicationsreceived, they will be short listed and the applicants who were short listed will

    only be called for the final interview. Any form of written or verbal canvassing isstrictly prohibited and those who have canvassed for a post will be disqualified

    without giving any notice or reasons.

    2. The Ceylon Electricity Board reserves the right to decide the numbers to be

    recruited on its own.
