Well my brothers wish I could say business as usual!! I Truly hope all are staying safe and healthy. As we go into may let’s hope we can get back to some come of normal life. I miss seeing all my brothers and getting together doing all our lodge activities. Our fishing night at the pier was cancelled due to the pier being closed down (and we all know why). I am hopeful once all this passes, we can reschedule this event sometime in May. If all goes as planned, we should get back to business this month with our normal meeting and lodge events. I am still figuring out how do post and due certain things on our Facebook page and I will continue trying to keep that active with what is going on at the lodge.

Summer is coming and I am sure several of our up-North brothers are getting ready to pack up and head North once this lock down is over. If you are one of those brothers stay safe on your travels and we look forward to your return in the fall.

As always “be a Better Mason tomorrow than you were today”Fraternally yourDavid MashiaSenior Warden

  • From the South My Brothers, I hope this finds all of you healthy, and in good spirits. I hope all of your self isolation days have been productive. Perhaps getting that book read that has been sitting on the counter, or maybe learning a new language. We at the LaCourse house are no exception. The first few days went by kind of slow. I had accidentally swallowed an ice cube, and I spent a tense 3 days waiting for it to pass. My doctor wouldn't take my calls so I have learned to live with it.

I tried finishing old projects I have started years ago. I have come up with a way to make gasoline engines run on hand sanitizer. Shark Tank has yet to return my call, however, I am hopeful.

You can try counting things. It's fun, and can really pass the time. I started out counting easy things like days in the week, and toes on my left foot. I have had enough time to really advance my counting skills. Did you know there are an average of 200 seeds on a strawberry? I am now in the middle of counting the treads in my 1800 thread count Egyptian sheets. I want to make sure I got my moneys worth. Just so you know, it takes 837 licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop.

We do miss everyone of you, except you, you know who you are. The rest of you, we cannot wait to see. It will be wonderful to see the Lodge filled with all your smiling faces. Our first meal will be a banquet. We can have a vote. Do you want Banquet fried chicken, or Banquet meat loaf? Let me know your preference.

Please remember in these questionable times, that you have brothers you can call on, and confide in. The world has gone a little crazy, and its the older, less mobile citizens that suffer the most. If you are in need of food, toilet paper, or perhaps a comforting word, reach out to us. Help will be on the way. There is no reason a brother should go without in this, or any Lodge. Do not hesitate, or feel shame in asking. You are all worthy. God bless.

Fraternally,Darrell LaCourseJunior Warden Englewood Lodge 360

    ORDER OF AMARANTH

ORDER OF THE EASTERN STARI want to thank everyone for reaching out to our Sisters and Brothers during this time of distancing. Using it as a period of conversation, reflection and staying in touch. Some may have even become “closer” to each other through these times by reaching out to those members who are unable to attend meetings on a regular basis. Even though the official day has passed, I, with a grateful heart feel it appropriate to wish Easter Blessings to everyone. Hopefully it granted each of us a day of Peace and Comfort. On April 4th, 2020, June Currier, a 75-year member of The Order of the Eastern Star, went to her eternal home. In 1986 June served as District Deputy Grand Matron of New York and became a member of Englewood #300 in 1987. June was 100 years young and a Life Member of our chapter.Warm wishes hugs and kisses to All Mothers in observance of Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10th. As of this time we are still hoping to meet for our regular Stated meeting on Wednesday May 13th at 1:30.

I will close this with a poem……A STAR by Mother Goose
