FROM THE EASTMy brothers When you get this TB we will have been to Grand Lodge to vote on the resolutions. I will brief everyone on the first
meeting how the vote went . We are still busy with degree practices and the team is working well and we will have a FC degree the 19th. We had another fundraiser at the gun range and now we are famous for Charlies gravy, it appears we will do 1 every month, We have some up coming events we need to discuss and start planning for so come and put your 2 cents in. Remember 2 heads are better than 1.June is the start of hurricane season, be sure you are repaired and last but not least the lodge is a good shelter.
Alone we are a single drop, together we can be a tidal wave
Fraternally Yours,Worshipful Master, W\Denis Doome P M

MASONIC EDUCATION
The seven liberal arts and sciences are a recurring theme in Masonic inform This field of study was first defined in the middle ages. This includes grammar, rhetoric, logic, arithmetic, geometry, astronomy and music. We do not have to be scientist, mathematician, musician or astronomer to be a Freemason. The
seven liberal arts and sciences do teach us to have respect for knowledge and to continue our education within our craft and everyday life.

CHAPLAIN’S CORNER
IN THE HISTORY OF FREEMASONRY, MASONS HAVE BEEN ATTACKED ON RELIGIOUS GROUNDS. THIS IS MOST NOTABLY BEFORE FORMATION OF THE GRAND LODGE OF ENGLAND IN 1717BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, STARTING IN THE LATE 1600’S AND
CONTINUING THROUGH THE1700’S AND 1800’S. THE CHURCH PLACED 20 PAPAL PRONOUNCEMENTS, CANNON RULE SAND LAWS AGAINST FREEMASONRY IN EUROPE AND MANY OTHER COUNTRIES. EVEN CHURCHES TODAY IN AMERICA HAVE STRONG
OBJECTIONS AGAINST FREEMASONRY. HOWEVER, THE PUBLICATION OF REVEREND JAMES ANDERSON’S ‘CONSTITUTIONS OF FREE MASONS’ IN 1723STATES THAT “NO PRIVATE QUARRELS ABOUT RELIGION ARE TO BE HELD WITHIN THE DOORS”. WE HAVE A LONG
TRADITION OF NOT DISCUSSING RELIGION OR POLITICS IN THE LODGE. AGAIN, WE MUST TELL NON-MASONS THAT WE ARE OBLIGATED TO HAVE A BELIEF IN GOD, BUT ADVOCATE NO SECTOR OF FAITH OR PRACTICE AS WE SEEK DIVINE GUIDANCE.
