PASTOR JOHN
Dear Friends,
I read a quote the other
day that I found to be
quite interesting, but also
very disturbing. e au-
thor said that “we Chris-
tians have given atheists
less and less in which to
disbelieve.”
I hate to admit it but
I think for the most part
this is true. e st
Century church, in its
attempts to be relevant,
contemporary, and com-
passionate, has (to a large
extent) lost its soul.
Many in the church
have traded the truth of
God’s word for the relativ-
ism of the world. ey
have sought to be politi-
cally correct rather than
spiritually faithful.
May that never be
the case with us here at
Christ, and for us as the
Lutheran Church Mis-
souri Synod. It was with
this thought in mind that
I embarked on our sum-
mer journey to study Jesus’
sermon on the mount.
For it is only as we learn
from and follow Jesus
that we can remain in the
truth, and that we can give
atheists plenty in which to
disbelieve.
Have a blessed month.
Pastor John
LETTER
FROM THE
PRESIDENT Sunday, August th, we
will dedicate the new con-
ference room. It looks great
and has been a long time
coming. It is particularly
exciting because the people
of Christ stepped up with
donations to pay for the
transformation of this room
and largely did all the work.
We can all be thankful and
proud.
Each year we set aside
some funds in the budget
for general maintenance and
larger ticket items like air
conditioners. Over the last
couple of years the funds
set aside and the regular
offerings given haven’t been
enough to make the needed
repairs. As a result, the
Trustees have had to priori-
tize the most critical items,
such as a new fire-supres-
sion system for the kitchen
and new air conditioners for
the sanctuary.
We have unmet needs
including major items like -
fixing the blinking sanctuary
lights, replacing or repairing
two more air conditioners,
repairing the office doorbell
for Alana’s safety, and a new
roof for the workshop. We
cannot do these and other
things within our current
giving. First and foremost,
each of us should consider
the appropriateness of our
regular budget giving.
Secondly, please consider
giving something above
and beyond to the Building
Repair Fund. The facilities
of Christ Lutheran have
been entrusted to the people
of Christ, and we all need to
do our part to keep it a great
place to worship.

e church’s involve-ment comes in two ways. First, we will have a display of work from our summer Art Camps, the quilting group will have a display, and we will provide some type of food for visitors, all of which will happen on our property. e second type of involvement comes with your help! We invite all
of our members to simply walk the Art Trail one or both days that weekend giving you the opportunity to meet your neighbors and maybe even purchase a beautiful piece of art. Members should feel no obligation to share anything about Christ Lutheran; just your pres-ence in the community is all that is needed.
