Star Struck Whole School Excursion
A note was sent home yesterday regarding the whole school excursion to Star Struck.
When: Friday 14 June 9.30am—2.15pm (for the 10.30am show).
Where: Newcastle Entertainment Centre
Cost: $35
Students who are performing in Star Struck do not need to purchase a ticket. Please get in early to secure your tickets.
NAPLAN Online 2019
NAPLAN 2019 will commence Week 3 this term and conclude in Week 4.
Tuesday 14 May: Writing - Year 3 and Year 5
Wednesday 15 May: Reading - Year 3 and Year 5
Thursday 16 May: Conventions of Language - Year 3 and Year 5
Wednesday 22 May: Numeracy - Year 3 and Year 5
Mothers Day Event
The P & C will be holding a Mothers Day “Pancakes & Cuppa” morning on Wednesday 8 May from
7.45am to 8.45am. See attached P & C Newsletter for more information.
Opportunity Class 2020– Year 4 Students Only
Applications for Year 5 entry to an optional Opportunity Class in 2020 open TODAY and will close on Friday 17 May
2019 at 5pm. Should you want your child to sit the entrance exam on Wednesday 31 July 2019, please refer to the
detailed information online. Please ensure you have read the entire document prior to applying.

Anzac Day Ceremony
Our school leaders and a group of our students represented our school at the Anzac Day march in Adamstown.
It was so nice to see so many students turn up in their uniforms and show their respect for our fallen soldiers
even though they were on school holidays.
Breakfast Club
Just a reminder that Breakfast Club is now held in the “STEAM” room (old OOSH hall) from 8.30am to 8.45am.

Ice Blocks will be for sale on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week only in the second break.
Cost is $ 1.00 each
Morning Coding Classes
A note was sent home at the end of Term 1 regarding the recommencement of the Thursday morning Coding
Classes.
These classes are for students in Year 2—Year 6 and will be held in the “STEAM” room from 7.30am to 8.30am
starting Thursday morning 2 May.
The cost is $200 ($20 per lesson for 10 weeks). You will need to register at www.kidcoders.com.au/MPS. Places
are limited and remember you can use your $100 “Creative Kids Voucher”.

School Assembly
Our weekly school assembly is held every Friday at 9:15am. All parents are welcome to attend.
Weekly awards are presented at the assembly.
Ronald McDonald House Fundraiser
We have changed the date for the Ronald McDonald House Head Shave to Monday 13
May 2019.
It will start with Mrs Connely and students having their heads shaved, then there will be
activities for all the children to participate in, such as face painting, tattoos, tape Mr Prigg
to a wall, Limbo stick and a disco in the hall. Any gold coin donation will be appreciated.
There will be cakes and slices for sale on the day.
Reminder that we are still selling raffle tickets a $1.00 each, for the Scanpan/Hamper and also now for a $20 Cupcake
Espresso Voucher thanks to Cup Cake Espresso Adamstown.
Make sure you get a guess in for “How Many Lollies in the Jar”. It’s only 50 cents a go.
Raffle Tickets and lolly jar guess are available to purchase Monday to Wednesday mornings before school.
