Add/Remove Stolen Inventory/Demo Devices – Negative File Request Last Revision: 04/01/13 (External)
Overview The Add/Remove Stolen Inventory/Devices – Negative File request form is to be used to report
stolen devices to prevent future activations.
This document outlines the following procedures: • Add inactive Dealer Owned inventory to the Negative file stolen during a burglary/robbery at
a Dealer location.
• Add Demo devices to the Negative File when stolen during a burglary/robbery at a Dealer
location.
• Remove recovered inventory and demo devices from the Negative File.
• IMPORTANT NOTE: This process will only add the devices to the Negative File so that the
devices cannot be activated on the network. Dealers should work with their local Police
Department to file the proper reports. Dealers should work with their insurance company to
recover any expenses, fees or costs incurred as a result of the theft.
IMPORTANT POLICY NOTES:
• All requests for Negative File Removals and Additions must be submitted by an Internal
Sprint Employee (DAE/ISM).
Terminology/Definitions DAE = Dealer Account Executive
ISM = Indirect Sales Manager
Additional Information If a customer is requesting to activate a phone or is bringing a phone in for repair, and
the phone is flagged lost/stolen and/or on the negative file. Customer may have
purchased on eBAY or Craigslist and was unaware the phone was reported as
lost/stolen. Advise the customer they must go back to their original point of purchase.
• Do NOT confiscate the phone.
• Do NOT ask for additional information (i.e., customer’s name)
• Do NOT obtain information from the phone (i.e., ESN/MEID/IMEI/MSN).
Process Steps Add Stolen Inventory to the Negative File
• Use this process to request inactive stolen Dealer Owned Inventory to the
Negative File
• Please note, do not use this process for stolen demo equipment. Refer to the section
titled ‘Add Stolen Demo Devices to the Negative File.’

Add Stolen Inventory Devices to the Negative File
• Use this process to add stolen inventory devices to the Negative File
Step
Action
1. To add stolen inventory to the Negative File, Dealer should complete the
Add/Remove Stolen Inventory form.
Sales Portal > Library > Indirect Channel > Add/Remove Stolen
Inventory/Demo Devices – Negative File Request Form
2. Dealer should create an email, attach the Add/Remove Stolen
Inventory form and forward to DAE/ISM requesting to add stolen
inventory to the negative file.
Before submitting your request, please ensure the device information on
the form is complete. Missing information could delay your request.
3. DAE/ISM will notify Dealer when the request is complete. Notification
may take up to 2 business days.
Add Stolen Demo Devices to the Negative File • Use this process to add stolen demo devices to the Negative File.

Action
1. To add stolen demo devices to the Negative File, Dealer should complete
the Add/Remove Stolen Demo Devices form.
Sales Portal > Library > Indirect Channel > Add/Remove Stolen
Inventory/Demo Devices – Negative File Request Form
2. Dealer should create an email, attach the Add/Remove Stolen Demo
Devices form and forward to DAE/ISM requesting to add stolen demo
devices to the negative file.
Before submitting your request, please ensure the device information is
complete. Missing information could delay your request.
3. DAE/ISM will notify Dealer when the request is complete. Notification
may take up to 1-2 business days.

Remove Recovered Inventory from the Negative File • Use this process to remove recovered dealer owned inventory from the
Negative file.
Step
Action
1. To remove recovered inventory from the Negative File, Dealer should complete the Add/Remove Stolen Inventory form.
Sales Portal > Library > Indirect Channel > Add/Remove Stolen
Inventory/Demo Devices – Negative File Request Form
2. Dealer should create an email, attach the Add/Remove Stolen
Inventory form and forward to DAE/ISM requesting removal of the
recovered inventory from the Negative file.
Before submitting your request, please ensure the device information is
complete. Missing information could delay your request.
3. DAE/ISM will notify Dealer when the request is complete. Notification
may take up to 2 business days.
Remove Recovered Demo Devices from the Negative File • Use this process to remove recovered demo equipment from the Negative file.

1. To remove recovered demo devices from the Negative File, Dealer should complete the Add/Remove Stolen Demo Devices form.

2. Dealer should create an email, attach the Add/Remove Stolen Demo
Devices form and forward to DAE/ISM requesting removal of recovered
demo devices from the negative file.
