The Addison Middle-High School Band
recently traveled to Ohio for a perfor-
mance. As part of their trip, the group
made stops at Kalahari Waterpark and the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame before re-
turning home. After taking part in Music
in the Parks, the junior high band nabbed
a first place trophy while the senior high
band was recognized with a third place
trophy.
Members of the Class of 2015 who took
part in this experience were Ben Smith,
Ann Stull, Rachael Sutryk, Michaela Set-
zer, Haley Grace, and Bianca Rogers
who, according to their advisor Mrs. Vro-
man, did a great job of representing the
Pillars of Knighthood. Mrs. Vroman de-
scribed this group of seniors as “incredibly responsible and adult-like” because of their trustworthiness.
Senior Ann Stull’s favorite part of the trip was the Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point, which is a 17 sec-
ond ride. Michaela Setzer added that the trip was a “good opportunity to showcase the students’ musical
talents.”
Senior Michaela Setzer was part of a group of 11
students who were inducted into the National Hon-
or Society on Thursday, May 14. Other senior
members include: Alyson Windnagle, Haley Grace,
Ben Smith, Caitlin Dearing, Beca Joris, Sam Hand,
Sarah Vondercheck,
Kendra Knapp, Wade
English, Zach Clark,
Ann Stull, and Brenna
Lyons. Haley Grace is
proud to be part of a
group that does so much
to “help the communi-
ty.” Alyson Windnagle
will miss being part of
the group’s recycling
program next year. The
National Honor Society
will be sponsoring a
blood drive on Wednes-
day, May 27 from 8am-
2pm in the high school
gymnasium.

Mother’s Day Celebration Puppet Show
Bruce Weaver came to Valley Early Childhood
School on May 8th in honor of Mother’s Day. The
Valley School was buzzing with excitement when
families came to join their children to watch a
puppet show presented by Bruce Weaver and
friends. Mr. Weaver did magic, sang, and enter-
tained us with his many different puppets. We would like to thank all the
families for coming out and sharing their day with us.
Zach McCracken won the Steuben County Golf Championship at
Corning Country Club with a score of 84. Danny Ames finished
second with an 87. Both players qualified for individual section-
als that were played on Saturday, May 16th at Ridgemont Coun-
try Club.

Great game on the night of Tuesday, May 19th for the modified baseball team. After two extra innings, they final-ly pulled out a win. Anthony Stewart scored a run in the 4th inning, while Brian Simon added one in the 6th. Ryan Su-tryk (pictured left) scored the tying run in the 7th off a hit from Jaret Mahnke. In the 9th inning Brian hit a ground-er to left field, driving Ryan in for the winning run. Great game, boys!

On April 21, Peyton Risley (pictured on the left in the photo-graph) and Calin Nichols (pictured right in the photograph) went to the American Sign Language (ASL) Rally in Syracuse. Nine stu-dents at Addison High School participate in ASL instruction via video conferencing. The ASL Rally brings together over 100 people from around New York State for a “voices off” day of communicating only in Sign Lan-guage. Peyton and Calin reported that it was “an amazing experience!” They signed with many differ-ent people, some who were deaf, met classmates from other schools, watched presentations, and even received their own name signs – a big deal in the deaf community! It was a trip they highly recommend as one that “shouldn’t be missed”! Nice job Peyton and Calin, keep up the good work.

THINK-Don't drink! With the Prom last weekend, our local Youth4Youth group had a car brought in from an accident and placed in front of the school. We hope that by seeing this car, it serves as a reminder to all of our students how im-
portant it is to use vehicle safety. Our Youth4Youth group stresses to their class-mates to 1.) not drink or do drugs 2.) not to drink and drive 3.) not speed 4.) not to use their cellphones or text while driving. We hope that everyone is responsible and safe!
The Class of 2016 held their prom on Saturday,
May 16, at the Corning Ramada Inn. According
to class co-advisor, Mrs. Vroman, the amount of teamwork that went in-
to putting the event together was incredible. The juniors had help from
students from other classes and parents to accomplish tasks such as blow-
ing up over 600 balloons. At the end of the night, Glendejiah Dennery
and Austin Dillon were crowned king and queen The Class of 2016 advi-
sors would like to thank the parents for their partnership in caring for
our students and keeping them safe. BELOW: Front: Left to right: Prom Court included Mackenzie Wooldridge,
