Add Employers

• F4K used by 475,000 students in 75 school districts in North Carolina

• 999 volunteer mentors and coaches are available to students from 255 active North Carolina employers.

Sample Size

• The SAS® Education Value-Added Assessment System (EVAAS®) for K-12, linked to each school’s SIS was used to compare the academic results of 475,000 students that used F4K with all North Carolina students in grades 6 to 12.

SAS EVAAS

Students using F4K benefit in several interrelated academic areas:

• They make more progress than their peers, based on higher End-of-Course (EOC) and End-of-Grade (EOG) test scores

• Results were especially strong in key STEM areas such as Mathematics

• The positive impact on EOC and EOG scores increases the longer a student participates in F4K and the greater the student’s usage

The Results

Duke Evaluation

In a separate study of North Carolina secondary students Duke University’s Center for Child and Family Policy found that 91% of students surveyed agreed that “F4K helped me realize I need to do well in school to get the kind of job I want”, and 88% were “More excited about graduating from high school after working with F4K.”
