ADDENDUM NO. 3, March 12, 2019 RE: HAYES HOUSE ENVELOPE REPAIRS

Box 1974 Brentwood, Tennessee (615) 370-8500, FAX = (615) 370-8530 TO: Prospective Bidders This addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original Bidding Documents dated February 1, 2019, Addendum No. 1, dated February 28, 2019, and Addendum No. 2, dated March 4, 2019, as noted below. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject Bidder to disqualification. This Addendum consists of 3 pages and the following attachments: A2.01 – BUILDING ELEVATIONS A2.02 – BUILDING DETAILS CHANGES TO THE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS:
3-1. DOCUMENT 001116 – INVITATION TO BID:
A. Change the Bid Opening date from Friday, March 15, 2019, to Friday, March 22, 2019.
B. Same time (2:00 pm local) and place (APSU University Design and Construction offices, 255 Marion Street, Clarksville, TN).
CHANGES TO THE SPECIFICATIONS: 3-2. SECTION 01 23 00 - ALTERNATES: Paragraph 1.02.B, delete the words, “and balcony
replacement.” 3-3. SECTION 01 50 00 – TEMPORARY FACILITIES AND CONTROLS: Paragraph 1.02, add, “Owner
will permit use of an interior room for the purposes of holding on site meetings. Be responsible for ongoing and final cleaning of such spaces. Protect existing features to remain that are not a part of this Project. Repair existing features damaged during the Work.”
3-4. SECTION 015010 - TEMPORARY UTILITIES, FACILITIES, CONSTRUCTION, AND BARRIERS:
Paragraph 3.4.C, add, “5. Owner will trim back bushes and shrubs around perimeter of the building to permit Contractor access to the Work.”
3-5. SECTION 040121 - MASONRY RESTORATION:
A. Paragraph 2.1.A: Delete in its entirety.
B. Add Paragraph 2.1.F, as follows:

“2.1.F Replacement Brick: Facing brick complying with ASTM C 216. Hollow brick complying with ASTM C 652, Class H40V (void areas between 25 and 40 percent of gross cross-sectional area) will not be permitted. 1. Grade: SW 2. Type: FBS 3. Provide face brick matching color range, texture, and size of existing adjacent
brickwork.”
C. Paragraph 3.4.B: Change to read, “Cut out head joints by hand. Do not use power units on head joints. Upon acceptable demonstration to Designer, Contractor may use a grinder on bed joints but only to remove the center of the joint; leaving existing mortar in contact with adjacent bricks. Remove remaining materials by hand.”
3-6. SECTION 055916 - PREFABRICATED HISTORIC BALCONIES: Delete Paragraph 1.4.C. 3-7. SECTION 062013 - EXTERIOR FINISH CARPENTRY:
A. Paragraph 1.1.A.2: Change to read, “Wood siding and soffits.”
B. Paragraph 2.4.A: Delete Paragraph in its entirety.
C. Paragraph 2.4.C: Change to read, “Match existing.” 3-8. SECTION 080152 - HISTORIC TREATMENT OF WOOD WINDOWS:
A. Paragraph 1.1.A: Change to read, “This Section includes repair and replacement of existing wood, double hung window sash; including the following:”
B. Paragraph 1.1.B:
a. Subparagraph 5: Add, “Remove existing wood jambs as required to gain access to weight pockets. Provide removable, wood replacement parts to match existing jamb components removed in the process of gaining access to existing weight pockets.
b. Add subparagraph as follows, “9. In locations as indicated on Drawings, remove existing window sashes and provide new wood sashes to match existing profiles.”
C. Paragraph 2.1.B: Change to read, “Sash – Existing to remain.” D. Add, “2.1.G Replacement of existing sash as indicated. Provide new sash that duplicate
existing original sash profiles, muntin profile, and joinery.” E. Paragraph 2.8.A: At end of paragraph, add, “all six sides before glazing.” F. Paragraph 3.2.C: At end of paragraph, add, “or at Contractor’s facility.”
