Contractor Questions: 2.01 Reference: Addendum Number One (ADD01), Question 1.07 Question: What is the depth of existing sewer line at rear of building? Response: Correction for the previous Response to 1.07: Depth inside the building is approximately 5’-0” and the nearest manhole depth is

approximately 6’-5”below grade. All existing conditions shall be verified in field. 2.02 Question: The Addendum addressed qualification statement from subcontractors be submitted

to the GC. I assume this is if we are awarded the project and know which subcontractor we are using and submit after the bid?

Response: This is not a correct assumption. Subcontractor qualifications are needed with the

bid submitted by the GC as this will be a reference and consideration in selecting the GC’s bid. Sub-contractors shall coordinate with their GC and submit qualifications prior to bid date.

2.03 Question: Will loose solid surface splashes be acceptable, get better fit to walls?

Response: This is acceptable if a clean transition with little to no gaps and a proper and tight seal along this joint can be achieved. It is high priority for the cleanliness at the base of the backsplash as traditional casework tends to hold debris and moisture, especially at sink locations (ie: exam rooms).

2.04 Question: Elevation 1/A9.1 looks to show a trash grommet, are these stainless steel? Response: The opening in countertops for trash receptacles are designed to be integrated into

the solid surface counter with eased edges around the perimeter ring of the opening.

2.05 Question: Rooms 118 & 135 Procedure/Exam calls out for ceiling mounted procedure lights.

We’ll need a structural plan to hold the lighting. Please advise. Question: On Addendum 1 note 1.01 Question: A couple new surgical lights indicated, but no

associated structure shown. Is supporting structure a part of contractor scope. Response: Yes; structural support design shall be provided by contractor. With existing being a

pre-engineered metal building additional weight from the existing structural framing will likely require that the contractor consult with a structural professional for detailing.

2.06 Question: Entry/Waiting room calls out for VWC1 on the plan page ID1.1 but there’s no wall

paper on the Finish Schedule or Spec. Please advise. Response: Refer to Question 1.17 response in Addendum One (ADD01). 2.07 Question: Does the GC need to submit subcontractor bid qualifications at the time of bid? Response: Yes.

2.08 Question: The bid form sent out by HMH states that LMH is the architect on the job. Are we to use this bid form or will there be a revised bid form stating SHA?

Response: SHA are the architects; please scratch out LMH, and replace with SHA. 2.09 Question: The solicitation states that unit prices are to be offered. I do not see where on the

bid form this is to be filled out. Are unit prices required at bid? If so, what are the unit prices that are required?

Response: No need for unit prices with the bid. HMH will get them from the selected

contractor at a later date. 2.10 Question: What is the ceiling deck height? Response: Ceiling and soffit heights not specifically called out on the ceiling plans, shall be the

typical heights as indicated in the ceiling General Notes. Height to structure above varies throughout project and should be verified in field.

For reference, here are some location points from the existing shell space plan west: Bottom of primary rigid beam frame is (+/-) 14’-10”AFF at the front wall and (+/-) 14’-2 1/4”AFF at the mid-span. The bearing point at bottom of steel joists is (+/-)

15’-10”AFF on the back wall at rear of the building. 2.11 Question: What, if anything, will need to be done to existing demising walls? (Plan note 15) Response: The plan west wall will need to be repaired for the associated plumbing demolition

with this wall. See P2.0. Demising walls shall be protected during construction. If scope requires alterations

of any kind, such as penetrations through existing demising walls, contractor shall repair or correct wall as necessary to maintain current demising occupancy separation.

2.12 Question: I’m looking through the finish schedule, and several rooms call for ACT3. However,

the finish schedule legend does not have any product listed for ACT3. Is there still time to clarify this?

Response: Refer to Question 1.19 response in Addendum One (ADD01). 2.13 Question: Please confirm from Addendum One (ADD01) question 1.08 – do we include a

$20,000 Allowance in our bid for floor prep? It’s unclear who provides the allowance HMH or the bidder.

Response: The contractor shall provide this allowance as part of their bid. 2.14 Question: There’s 8 bath rooms with ceramic tile. Please confirm which walls get the tile

wainscot (wall tile). Elevation only shows two walls. If it’s only two walls we’ll need to know what kind of base will go on the other two walls.

Response: All walls in toilet rooms are to receive PTW1 to wainscot height indicated on Sheet

A9.1 – Interior Elevations and PT1 above wainscot per Sheet ID1.1 – Partial First Floor Finish Plan.

2.15 Question: Are we correct to assume any partitions not labeled on plan pages A4.1A & A4.1B will only go up 6" past the acoustic ceiling and NOT TO DECK?

Response: Correct. 2.16 Question: Regarding demo drawings note #1 existing “construction to remain”: At the back wall in the vacant suite (approximately 40 – 50’), there's no metal studs

or drywall and no new partitions called out on the plans. Also please put in something about re-doing the back walls that are existing. They could be in and out and up and down room to room. I would say this is the same at the soffit at the front wall as well. Please clarify drywall scope for front and back walls.

Response: Refer to Question 1.09 response in Addendum One (ADD01). Clarification to these

conditions and the scope of work for these walls has been revised per the attached Architectural Sheets. Refer to Architectural Section below.

Information regarding impact to drywall (or other items) to remain is covered in the Demolition General Notes. Contractor is responsible for repairing, patching or replacing items scheduled to remain that are in any manner affected by the work.
