DescriptionsofRifleanditsNewPistonSystem
TheAdcorrifleincludesapistonbaseoropticsreadywithagas‐drivenpistonincorporatedintotheupperpartofthefrontrail,replacingthestandardgasimpingementdesign.Thepistondriveensuresreliabilitybypreventinghotgasesandcarbonparticulatesfromenteringthereceiverandfoulingofthechamberandtheaction.DiminishedheatreachingtheupperreceivermeansthatCleanerLubricantandPreservative(CLP)appliedinthisareawillevaporateatalowerrateandnotdryout.Thedesignallowslessmaintenanceandincreasestheoverallreliabilityoftherifle.Anewlydesignedventcoverhousesthepistonexhaustports,whichprotectstheoperatorfromexhaustheatandcutsdownontherifle’ssignature.Mountingthepistonontheundersideoftherailsystemallowsthebarreltofloatfreely,ensuringgreateraccuracyoftherifle.Thelowerhalfoftherailsystemdetacheswithauniquetool‐freedesignforreadyaccesstothepistonandgastubeenhancingoperationalmaintenanceandcleaning.Theoperatingsystemcanbecleanedfasterthantheexistingrifle’scleaningroutine.Theoperatorinthefieldcanadjustthepiston’scyclicalratetokeeptherifleoperatingwithincontrolrateoffireparameters,resultinginlesswearontherifle’scriticalpartswithasimpletwistoftheadjustmentmechanismatthepistonchamber.Thepistondesignismachinedwithclosetolerancessothatgasringsarenotneeded,eliminatinganotherpotentialmaintenanceissuefortherifle.
ExclusiveEjectionPortDustWiperSystem
AfteratypicalAR‐styleriflefires,therifleissusceptibletocontaminantsbecausetheejectionportdoorremainsopenuntilitismanuallyclosed.Dust,sandanddebriscanenterthereceiverandworktheirwaybetweenthereceiverandbolt,potentiallyjammingtherifle.Thesecontaminantsalsocreatewearandmaintenanceissues.Adcor’sdesignsolvesthisproblemwithaspring‐loadeddustwipermountedontherifle’sboltcarrier.Eachtimetheriflefiresandtheboltcarrierreturnstothereadyposition,thedustwipermovesintotheejectionportopening,flushwiththeoutsidegeometryoftherifle.Nodust,sandordebriscan

entertherifle.Thedustwiperassemblyhastwosprings,betweentheboltcarrierandthewipertocontinuoslypushoutwardlyawayfromtheboltcarriersothatthedustwipercontinuouslyengagestheinnersurfaceofthereceiverduringmovementinthefiringandrearwardpositions.
Thedustwiperismadefromaself‐lubricatingpolymericmaterialthatwithstandsextremeheatandcold,andisextremelydurable.Theconfigurationallowstheusertoremoveandre‐installtheshieldwithouttheuseoftools.(NOTE:Oncethewiperisremovedfromtheboltcarrier, replaceit andthespringswithanewassembly)Inaddition,theriflefunctionsnormally,whethertheshieldisaffixedtotheboltcarrier,orremovedfromtheriflebytheuser.
NewAmbidextrousForwardPlacedChargingHandle/ForwardPlacedAssist
Adcor’sdesignpermitsanoperatortocharge,clearorforwardassisttheriflewithoutlosinganyengagementwiththetarget.Theoperatorreachesforwardandpullsbackonahandle(whichcanbelocatedoneithersideoftherifleforrightorlefthandedoperators)withoutlosingsightofthetarget.Iftheriflemalfunctions,thesamehandleclearstheriflewithasinglepull.Itisaneasy‐tousesinglemechanism.Thehandleisdetachable(withouttools)andisambidextrousforuseoneithersideoftherifle.Itisequippedwithaspringthatreturnsthehandletoalockedpositiononceused,wherethehandlefoldsforwardintoarecessedareatokeepitoutoftheway.Tousethehandleagain,theoperatorreachesforward,andswingsthehandleoutwardandbackinasinglemotion.Thehandleisnon‐reciprocatingwhentheriflefires,andonlyengageswhentheoperatorchargesorclearstherifle,
