Additional Notes Configuring User Account Control on Windows Vista: Windows Vista default configuration contains tighter security settings via User Account Control (UAC), which require administrative approval for accessing or executing administrative tasks. webMethods Microsoft Package uses system APIs that require admin privileges. When UAC is enabled, if the Microsoft Package attempts to access or execute an administrative task, the call fails with the error “System.UnauthorizedAccessException." As a workaround, in Windows Vista, do either of the following: Disable UAC completely by turning off User Account Control. Change the elevation prompt behavior for administrators. Using the Local Security Settings, configure the local policy "User Account Control: Behavior of the

elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode" to use "Elevate without prompting" instead of the default "Prompt for consent.” (In Security Settings, expand Local Policies, select Security Options, and edit the policy.)

An adapter will support JVM 1.6 only if JVM 1.6 is supported by the client libraries. Note the following behavior change with IBM WebSphere MQ 7.0:

The behavior of the MQQueueManager.getCharacterSet() method is slightly different between the version 6.0 and version 7.0 client. At version 6.0 the method returns the character set (CCSID) in use for the communications with the queue manager, which in this case is equivalent to the value that MQEnvironment.CCSID was set to when the connection was established. At version 7.0, the queue manager will attempt to use its own CCSID for communications with the client, and as such it is more appropriate that the MQQueueManager.getCharacterSet() method returns the queue manager's actual CCSID value. This value is independent of the value of MQEnvironment.CCSID, which can still be accessed by a client application.
