If you are finding it difficult to manage in your home, find out how we can help you to adapt it to suit your needs.

Does your home need to be adapted? If someone in your household is disabled, and finds it difficult to live in your home, we may be able to help you to adapt it to meet their needs.

What help is available? We offer means tested grants of up to £30,000 to help you adapt your home. Depending on your circumstances, the grant could cover the cost of widening doorways, installing a stairlift, a level access shower or ramps. In some cases it could even be spent on building an extension.

How can I find out if I qualify? To find out if you qualify for a grant, you will need to book an assessment by an occupational therapist from Staffordshire Social Care and Health. Call the team on 0300 111 8010 to arrange an assessment.

Who can apply for a grant? If you qualify for an adaptation, you can apply for a grant. If you do not own your own home, your landlord will need to give consent for the work.

How can I apply? We work in partnership with Metropolitan Care and Repair to help our residents adapt their homes. To find out how to apply for a grant, please call 0203 535 3670 or email [email protected]
