Dr Adam Cobb (BA Syd, MA ANU, PhD Cantab., TS SCI) is an internationally recognized strategic problem
solver. His career spans the legislative branch of two governments (Congress & Parliament), nationalsecurity, industry and academia, in Europe, SE Asia and the United States. A noted author & educator, he is
a Board Member of the RUSI Journal Advisory Board, and has been a Visiting Fellow at Wolfson College,
Cambridge. Dr Cobb has mentored mid career military and intelligence professionals to command at theoperational and strategic levels of war. He has testified before the National Intelligence Council, the US China
Economic & Security Review Commission, and he has been a panelist in the Tswalu Protocol. Dr Cobb read
History with Professor Sir Harry Hinsley (Official Historian of British Intelligence) at St John's College,Cambridge. Dr Cobb has enhanced strategic decision making for the following organizations • HQ United

Dr Cobb has been appointed at the rank of full Professor in the Warfare Analysis and Research (WAR)
Department, in the Center for Naval Warfare Studies, US Naval War College. The Director of the Mahan
Advanced Research Project is focused on the operational use of United States military and naval forces, andon the developing geo-strategic, political and technological environments influencing their future employment.
Particular focus on researching, analyzing and reporting findings in the systematic examination of deterrence
across all domains with an emphasis on nuclear strategy, non-proliferation and assurance issues, with thepotential to align research into other areas of concern for naval forces including future force structure,
maritime and naval strategy, amphibious and special operations and other areas of naval warfare. The
Director supervises the research of the Mahan Scholars, a group of strategic thinkers that are selected each
year to conduct applied research in the fields noted above.

degree program in a part-time format with classes held two evenings per week, usually Monday and

via JWICS video-teleconferencing to eligible locations.
