6 August 1979 . The schedule d launc h time was pg~~ POT .

DISCUSS ION

Meteo roloqlca l data were recorded and reduced by the White Sands Meteor-oloqi cal Team , Atmosp’~er1c Sciences Laboratory (ASL), Whi te Sands MissileRan ge. New Mexico. The data were obtained by the followinn methods:

1. ObservatIons

a. Surface

(1) Standard surface observations to include pres~ure , tern-peraturr (°C), relative humidity , dew point (°C) , density (cnn/rn”), winddirection ard speed , and cloud cover were made at the LC-33 Met Site at1-0 mInutes .

(2) Anemometer data were provided from exlstinq ~,ole-mountedand tower-mounted anemometers at LC-33. Monitor of wind speed and directionfrom c~ne anemometer was also provided in the launch control room.

b. Upper Air

(1) Low leve l wind data were obtained from RAPTS 1-9 pibalobservation at:

(2) Air structure data (rawinsonde ) were collected at thefollowing Met Sites . Data were collected from surface to 98~OOO
