The Flower Corner is a fl orist based in Rochdale and they are trying to attract a younger audience. It is a fairly new shop and the only people that shop there are women aged 50 and up. The owner wants to broaden the market to younger audience as well as older. Femininity and detail are key. They have asked me to brighten up the brand and modernise it making it stand out from the rest.
I have complete creative freedom however, I must keep the same name and be clear that they make fl owers for every occasion. The promotional booklet will be given out in the store and also will be in wedding magazines and also will be able to order off the website.
The International Society of Typographic Designers asked to explore plants in their broadest form. I discovered ‘fleurons’ which is a Victorian means of communication where by plants and flowers hold specific meanings. I decided to create an alphabet with the letters representing flowers and their meaning.
Develop an eye catching and informative outcome that interprets and celebrates plants and the concept of garden and its role in our lives. It was a very open brief as I had the choice of print or screen just as long as it is informative and clearly shows my typographic skills.
Bellavista is an ecological Italian restaurant in Manchester. The restaurant has been inspired by the building ‘Chapel in Valleaceron’ and the building was inspired by folded boxes. Bellavista means ‘Beautiful view’ and so the interior and exterior of the resort are seamless with the surroundings of modern architecture.
The logo is modern and simplistic similar to the layout of the menus and the colour scheme derives from the concrete structure, and the blue sky of Almadenejos.

The concept was to design a range of magazines each issue a different part of English architecture looking at the North West, North East, South West and the South East. The chapters of these magazines will include Modern, Victorian, Post War and New Millennium architecture.
In the main cities in the North of England. This includes; Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Salford Keynes. Architecture will include modern buildings like hotels and new offi ces. Also Victorian style architecture like churches and cathedrals and anything that looks impressive. All the buildings will have a brief description and the history of them.

Collaborative brief with two fashion students Hannah Wakeford and Sophie Gray. Full branding including an identity each, look books, business cards, hangers, CVs and swing tags.
The print finishes needed to be very high quality which is why I had to call a range of printers for quotes and get the best deal which was a great experience.
I art directed a fashion shoot in South London where each Hannah and Sophie hired a model and we had a professional photographer and makeup artist and it was my job to let the photographer know the style of the shots we wanted.
For Hannah’s photoshoot we decided to keep the background very neutral as the garment were quite exiting and colourful and we didn’t want to take away any of the detail on the garments.
The concept for this Imdb (internet movie database) brief was to produce a free supplement which went in the New York Times newspaper. The supplement was for entertainment purposes celebrating the top 100 movies of all time from 1927-2012. The front cover must contain the Imdb logo and also it must be clear that it is the top 100 movies.
To promote this supplement I made some postcards that comes in DVD cases which are very bold and eye catching and also a bag that DVD’s can go into so you cannot miss it. The bags will be given out at stores like HMV and Fopp.
Singer / songwriter David Cooper commissioned me to make his first album. I collaborated with Illustrator Chris Cooper and It was my job to make the lyric book for inside the cd cover and also figure out a way to put it together. The booklet that is fitted inside the front of the album
cover is stitched to give it that personal touch as the idea was to make it stand out. People will want to buy the art work as well as for the music.
