A video synchronizationdetector enables a video display generator to generate avideo message signal corresponding to a receivedalphanumeric text message in synchronism with areceived television signal. A video mixer selects eitherthe received video signal or the video message signal foroutput. The messages produced by the video messagegenerator are user selectable via a keyboard input. Amessage memory stores a plurality of alphanumeric textmessages specified by user commands for use assubliminal messages. This message memory preferablyincludes a read only memory storing predetermined setsof alphanumeric text messages directed to differingtopics. The sets of predetermined alphanumeric textmessages preferably include several positive affirmationsdirected to the left brain and an equal number of positiveaffirmations directed to the right brain that are alternatelypresented subliminally. The left brain messages arepresented in a linear text mode, while the right brainmessages are presented in a three dimensionalperspective mode.
