When everyone thought things were getting back to normal

in Brazil, there are new scandals involving politicians of the

most important positions in the federal Government, and the

economic chaos and uncertainty in governance return. What’s

our role in front of all these situations? Is the role that God has

assigned us in I Chronicles 7.14: “if my people, which are called

by my name humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and

get away from their evil ways, the heavens will listen to, forgive

your sin and cure your Earth”. In this issue, on page 13, we talked

a little more about it. Last Thursday (18), all pastors of our Chur-

ch have joined together in one voice and cried for our country.

Do your part, pray, get involved and find out everything that’s

Many young people lives these days at a crossroads. It is a very different gene-ration of experienced by our parents and grandparents, when there were not many choices and options. Our generation has many options, but what is missing is the power of a right decision. We’re bombar-ded that cause us fear to decide. Many times, we haven’t decided anything and our life stands. We’re afraid to face that job interview, afraid to engage a dating, afraid to start a course, afraid to go to a Ministry, and life goes by without some-thing relevant happens.

One of the first things we see in the Bi-ble to do is walk. We should get up and not standing still. In Proverbs 13.20, the word says for walk with the wise and become wise. In other words, walk with the right people. But, right now, I want to encoura-ge you to make the right decision. God lo-ved the world, that he gave your only son, that’s the kind of attitude that you should take. The love has to generate certain at-titudes, God not only loved, but took the attitude of surrender. Best is to be alone before the society to live with people who disturb the decisions. If you don’t know what to do, don’t know how to get away

oday is better than the day before was, even if you’re facing difficult situations and feeling homesick yesterday. Howe-ver, be aware that you can’t live yesterday because there’s only today. Tomorrow is just an expectation, only God can say whe-ther we are alive. So, we have to make everyday a celebration of love, mercy and

kindness, to be lived intensely. But how to have a fulfilling life, if we live in a world with so

much trouble, so many pressure, marked by so many violence, disappointments, frustrations and things that hurt us and often bring a deep anguish and sorrow?? There is nothing that touches your life that God isn’t watching, even in the middle of more than seven billion human beings, He sees you. Many times, when you see yourself in so many disasters and difficult situations, you mi-ght wonder where is God, and the answer is: God is where He always was. There are paths that to our eyes it seems right, but, at the end, it is the path of death. There are moments that seem that the Lord is not there, but God doesn’t make mistakes. We have to understand that we are not called to know and unders-tand the ways of the Lord, but to know his heart.

In Psalm 55, verse 22, is written like this: “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Many realities have shaken our country, such as the lack of employment. There are more than 14 million Brazilians unemployed, so many pressures, situations of despair and an-guish, the growth of violence, but on everything that God wants

to operate, because you’re still the apple of his eye. Remember, God has no children favorites, He doesn’t love a person more than another, but when a person delivers heart Him, take Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, stops being a creature of God to be a child of God, as recorded in the Bible: “All about the received gave them the power to be made sons of God , namely, those who believe in your name “.

Is to have the name written in the Book of Life, live like a beloved son and be called fair. Justification is a declaratory Act of God, when someone receives Jesus as your Lord and Savior, God declares that the righteous shall see Him as if he had never committed a sin and gives us the grace to live in His presence wi-thout guilt complex or conviction. But bad situations can shake the righteous, however it is possible to face them and not get be-ated by them, because Jesus holds the hands of the one who calls for him. Allow your heart to be involved with the heart of God. Rest in his promises.

TITHE

■ The tithe should be delivered to the Church (Malachi 3.10), establishing a salary basis only and pays their pastors on an equitable basis.

■ The offers are necessary to build, maintain and operate the Church (paying cleaning bills, light, water), and to undertake Mi-nistries, demonstrating the practical significance of the gospel.

■ Tithes and offerings serve to take the selfishness of our hearts and help us to put our trust in money, but in God (Luke 12.15). As a result of this relationship of trust, we will have more wisdom to spend the money, because we get a correct perspective of our scale of values, knowing thus differentiate what is really essen-tial to what is superfluous. We will know also use things and love people, never the other way around.

■ Our motivation to tithe is not get blessings God materials, but express gratitude and adoration for the gifts received. God does not trade with anyone. The Lord teaches us to humbly we offer and in sincerity, not for ostentation or interest (Luke 21.1-4).

■ The return of tithes and offerings put God and man in their proper positions: Creator and creature, the donor and recipient, God and butler.

■ * The tithe is holy, Holy. He belongs to God (Leviticus 27.30, 32). So, don’t give the tithe, but gave back what belongs to God.

■ The tithes serve exclusively for the preaching of the Gospel, for the maintenance of the full-time pastors and exclusive dedi-cation to preaching (1 Corinthians 9.14). In Israel, the tithe was used exclusively to the Levites (Numbers 18.21, 24).

PRAYER

“Who then is the one who condem-ns? No one. Christ Jesus who died —more than that, who was raised to life —is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” (Romans 8.34). How wonderful to know that the Lord Jesus came to save us, to redeem us from death and Sin, bring us a new life, justifying us with divine justice, through your blood shed on the cross and continue your work of eternal love before the throne of the glory of the Father as our intercessor. How wonderful to know that the Lord never abandons us, but keep an eye on our way to our decisions, trials and free of the bonds that the enemy prepa-res to make us fall. How wonderful it is to make sure that we are not alone, that, day and night, the Lord Jesus in the covers and interceding for us with the father.

When Jesus lived his last hours of freedom with his disciples, he prepared Simon Peter to the imminent danger of temptation would ever befall him. Jesus said to Peter: “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your fai-

Jesus knew that Peter would deny for fear of suffering the same as your Master. He could fink facing charges. He would seek to save the skin and leave LORD . Jesus knew your weakness, and, though this, the loved and took care to ensure that your faith faint. Jesus prayed for Peter before everything happened. Jesus interceded with the fa-ther, and God answered your son Jesus. The faith of Peter was not annihilated, on the contrary, he acknowledged your SIN and cried bitterly. Peter repented and was justified by Christ, having proof of that in the encounter with the risen Lord by the sea of Galilee.

Jesus calls you to a walk to the edge of the great Lake and asks Peter three times if he loved him. And, just as he had denied three times that he knew the Lord, now has the chance to confess your love and your decision to follow him to the death. It is in this context that you trust your herd: “Peter, feed my lambs (...) my sheep (...) “ (John 21.15, 16, 17). The intercession of Jesus sought the life of Peter and what your Ministry would reach for years, both in Jerusalem and the Nations whe-re it would pass. Today, the Lord Jesus is seated at the right hand of the father and intercedes for us. The marvelous work of salvation of man needs continue, and God uses his children born again in Christ, to take this message around the world. God uses you to witness about Jesus, your love and power. The Church of the Lord Jesus continues unbeaten alive in the hearts of men and women who, in themselves are feeble and weak, but in the power of the Holy Spirit, are strong and unstoppable. And, as the Church of the Lord, purchased by your precious blood, we can proceed

In our journey through life, it is important to know that we have these two powerful intercessors who see constantly face the Father and ask for us, meet our structure and know how hard it is to be a man in this wicked world, where there is constant fighting against the forces of evil. The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us. The Lord Jesus Christ intercedes for us. And this intercession is day and night. Is tireless. So we move on. So we can be standing, having the sensitivity to hear them whispering in our ears: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discoura-ged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9). When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” (Isaiah 43.2). Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?(1 Corinthians 3.16) and the Lord Jesus is with us every day until the consummation of the ages (Matthew 28.20), when we will be forever in your pre-sence, Alleluia!

So there can be more people happy and secure the people of God, true Christians, because the Lord is with us every day. He takes care of us save, protect, teach and watch us cons-tantly so you don’t fall into the traps of the enemy, or perish in the mistake. We are, therefore, firm in the faith, empowered in your Word and grounded in faith in his promises. Rejoi-ce in the Lord, rest in your power and always know that the most powerful intercessors are at your side day and night and ensure your life in this world. Thank now the Lord for your kindness to us, through the intercession of the Son and of the Holy Spirit with the father, so that in all things that may come against us, we are more than winners. Text display: Paul’s teaching to Corinth’s the diversity of spi-ritual gifts and saying that God gives each way. In these verses it features what we call gifts of power. The gift of wonders or mira-cles is when God do a miracle through the life of a person. Miracle is a supernatural intervention of nature. The Red Sea open, for example, is a miracle. Gifts of healing is the power of God mani-fested to the cure of disease. Gift of faith is a supernatural about the faith that the faithful already have. We received faith to hear the word of God, we’re so in prayer and worship, demonstrating our faith. However, when we received the gift of faith we are led to an extraordinary level of faith beyond that we walk every day, to live the supernatural God.

Objective: understand the gifts of power and understand that they are associated with who God is, strengthening our faith to receive these interventions.

Context: water in no condition to become wine. Dead can-not stay alive. A wall doesn’t fall with shouts. A barren woman is not pregnant. Considering the unfavorable condition as a factor not to be the miracle is you do not know the essence of a mi-racle. More than the essence of a miracle when you look at the circumstances and say that they can’t change, we are unaware of our God. The gifts of healing, miracles and faith operations de-monstrate the character of the God Almighty. Just as God does not cease to be Almighty, these gifts not ceased to exist. When we look at divine Omnipotence, three characteristics stand out: creating, processing and support.

1) Creation: God created heaven and Earth from nothing. He just released your Word, and that there was came into existence. He brought into existence thousands of aquatic species and Ear-th. Variations of thousands of fruit. Billions of stars and species of

SCARRING YES, WOUNDS NOOur church leadership met to moments of learning, alignment and communion

With the objective of promote alignment and communion our church held two big meetings for the leadership. On Sunday (21) took place in the “Fábrica de Artes” a date for pastors, volun-teers with Ministry of the word held by pastor Márcio, dynamics, time for questions to the regional pastors and chat. In the second (23) night at the temple, more than 2,400 people, including pas-tors, workers, leaders, supervisors, superintendents and hosts of Small groups, were present at the meeting of the leadership of our Church. It was a special night of unity, dedication and vision alignment. In that single moment, 55 new pastors were conse-crated for use as tools in the work of Christ.

Pastor Flavinho, leader of the House of Small Groups, after the initial prayer pointed the targets that the leaders of groups of cells must reach. According to him, the Church nears every life through leadership: “the leader of Small Groups needs to be as a pastor, attending your House led and knowing your family. Last week, a new political crisis began in Brazil. Where it was disclosed new plea bargain; in them, the President, one of the senators, among other politicians, were named invol-ved in the corruption scheme investigated by the “Lava Jato” Operation. The news provoked immediate shock into the fi-nancial market and political relations. The day after the news leak of the contents of information, the price of the dollar rai-sed and stocks of Brazilian companies dropped. Discussions of major changes (labor, social security and policy) in the National Congress were paralyzed and some federal deputies and senators, as well as political parties until then allied base, announced break-up with the Government. Thousands of Brazilians took to the streets to call for the resignation of the President. The ghost of political and economic chaos gained visibility again. We are living in a time of severe political and economic crisis in Brazil.

The simple economic improvements in recent months may lose and we may have, briefly, the appeal of another Presi-dent; in this case, we would have indirect elections, that is, the

choice of a new President and Vice President from among the deputies and Senators within 30 days from the vacancy of the Office. There is also the remote possibility of the approval of a proposed amendment to the Constitution, which would chan-ge the form of election of a new President (if the President is impeached) indirect process in Congress for direct elections by the people. Whatever the outcome is, this is the ideal time for a profound and necessary transformation in our nation. The crisis which we live is not unprecedented, recent, nor has its origins in the institutions. She comes from another crisis: a moral crisis, a crisis of character of the own citizens that comprise brazilian society. The “Brazilian way corrupt being” taken unimaginable proportions, has surpassed all existing legal limits and if initiated by all the social and political and institutional structures of our country. Political representati-ves are our reflection as a society. We only have representa-tives of integrity and a country fair when our society is fair. Depends on each one of us, it depends on all of us. Protected childhood is a Mi-nistry of First Baptist Church of Lagoinha and composes the protected childhood na-tional network, which con-

sists of a broad, diverse and multidiscipli-nary network of professionals and civil society entities that develop actions aimed at the promotion and protection of chil-dren and adolescents in Brazil. In short, the protected childhood Network aims to protect our children so that they can de-velop healthily, without interference that may hinder the natural development of them. So, protected childhood space aims to accommodate the child victim of any form of negligence, omission or neglect and make appropriate referrals for the entire network of guarantee of rights and protection of children.

The professionals make referrals to child protective services, indicate referen-ce hospitals for checkups in case of abuse and sexual violence, make referrals to le-gal assistance and care to counseling and psychological and psycho-pedagogical calls also for children. In more serious ca-ses, make referrals for Psychiatry, Neuro-logy and Pediatrics. Protected childhood as the child audience, with the focus on attending, especially children who are ex-periencing any kind of problem linked to sexuality, identity disorder and who are suffering from any kind of violence, abu-se or sexual exploitation. As for the adults, are offered advice on how to deal with the child in the process that she is passing all your monitoring in ministry. Currently, protected childhood space works with 14 projects, among them we highlight

the ones today, serve a larger number of children, who are the ministries: Gide-ons, “Brave of the King”, “Princess in the eyes of the Father” and the workshop of the “Claves” in strong to face difficult si-tuations. Monthly, through the protected childhood Space, an average of 250 chil-dren in the ministries mentioned above. Only the Gideon Ministry weekly Junior meets approximately of 100 children. The other ministries are designed to meet this demand applicant the needs presented by the family, Church and society. psychology, educational psychology, peda-gogy and social assistance. Further fittin-gs include volunteers who work on all our events, lectures, courses and conferences.

It is important mentioning that the protected childhood now works on new address, situated at Avenue Presidente Antônio Carlos, 2,646 Belo Horizonte in the old building of UREV. In this new sta-ge, the Ministry needs volunteers in the areas of psychology, child psychiatry, Neu-

Pastor Flavinho leader of Small Groups visit us churches for training of leaders

At the request of our Pastor Márcio Valadão, pastor Flavinho, leader of Small Groups had the opportunity to travel to some countries in Europe where there is Lagoinha Baptist Church deployed. The trip happened between April 26 and may 12 and toured the churches in London (England), Madrid (Spain), Porto, Lisbon and Braga (Portugal). The purpose of this trip was to inspi-re, align, train and empower the lead of “Lagoinhas” established in Europe. “It was an extraordinary time with our pastors, their families, and with every Lamb that God has entrusted to the La-goinha. I confess to being impacted with everything I saw and all that God has done through these churches “comments Pastor Flavinho. He says that the jobs are challenging because they are countries where Christianity is cold, less than 1% of society is Christian, and Islam has grown alarmingly.

The Church Mission Society, the Mennonites and other agencies took the Gospel to this region, and now there are believers and churches among these people. Buenos Aires is one of the largest urban areas in the world, and the Gospel does not reach many who live there. It’s hard to reach the educa-ted upper class. The Jewish community (one of the largest in the world) has few believers. Some churches started work among the 500,000 residents of poor communities, homeless and stre-et children, but it needs more work. Chinese, Korean, Japanese communities and Vietnamese continue to grow, and there is only one agency to reach them.

The Argentina has the potential to become a prominent cou-ntry in sending missionaries. Praise God for the missionary vi-sion of the national church. Ask God to fulfill the goals set by Christian leaders to prepare, submit and support many workers:

■ Pray that the spirit continues to attract many to you; ■ Pray for the students in hundreds of schools and seminars

for schools and Bible courses; ■ Pray that the leaders can hear what the spirit says to the

IT WAS NOT JUST A CONFERENCE

The Lagoinha family Congress “Time of Joy”, was generated in our heart for the purpose of providing the community, a lost of biblical values and principles that guide and protect the natural family, created by God. So we

didn’t see him as just a Conference, but a change of mentality and lines of action of our Ministry, in take care of with our bro-thers.

The number of divorces and breakups, have scared us plenty, especially when these are presented within the Church. Pastor Ebenezer Bittencourt, on opening night, he presented a vision of renewal of our imperfections. That directly reflect the way we connect with God and with our families, especially, spouses and children. Live the intensity of true “joy” at the wedding, was the message of fun Pastor Cláudio Duarte. “ As we learned with the revelation of the word of 2 Kings 5. The Ministry Lagoinha Kids, leader by the Pastor Zilma Men-doza, worked hard and took care of the 600 children present du-ring the 3 nights of the event. We are delighted with the news that an impressive number of kids had the experience of being baptized with the Holy Spirit. ESTER PROJECT IN LAGOINHA SARZEDOIn addition to the meetings in Hall “ELAS”, this Ministry comes into action in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte.

For the honor and glory of the Lord, the Ester Project will work also in Lagoinha Sarzedo. With the theme “Wives in prayer, husbands in transformation”, the project’s vision awakening in women a life of prayer and intimacy with God, to become wise wives and reach and build the spouses. T he gastronomy is one of the richest mining, tasty and appreciated from all over Brazil. In each re-gion of the State, various and delicious dishes are

prepared for different occasions, after all, the miner is a hospitable people and does not lose the opportunity to share tables had enough and tasty.

Thinking of strengthen this local culi-nary tradition, was held on 12 and 13 may the unprecedented event Lagoinha Food on Earth, which brought together some 1,400 people in Igarapé.

One of the highlights of Lagoinha Food on Earth was the “show kitchen”: two cooks taught and made selected, in real time, its proceeds from the event during the party. Who also gave prestige to this event was the Super Television Network, which produced an exclusive matter as was the event.

I am 34 years serving Jesus in Lagoinha. I arrived in 01/2/1984 a week later came to my dear wife, at the time en-gaged, Cida Caldeira. We went straight for baptism class “Ca-

techumens”, received by pastor Paulo César, who also baptized in 01/29/84, un-forgettable day! So we started a journey of true seeks God. We went to assiduously the cults of Wednesdays and Fridays, the vigils, Sunday morning and night. Were times of growth and involvement. Shortly after his baptism, he was preaching the word of God in Mexico, in the Concordia station, Sete de Setembro and the bus station, in the center of Belo Horizonte, in tollbooths in front of the old temple, and inside the bus; with the discipler and mentor Pastor Zusenio. And so began my Ministry, showing every day my call.

When the first seminar in the Pond, the CFO (courses) then CET (courses) , there I was, a baby in the faith, but with a great desire to feed and grow spiritu-ally. With great conviction of mine named always introducing me to the work. On 12/22/84 day, Cida and I got married, the celebrant was the pastor Márcio, a won-derful day for us! A year later, my eldest son, James, was born three years later

A story of love and service in Lagoinha

came the Philip and eight years later the Gilberto junior.

As soon as I started the Ministry of “Peace Phone”, I enlisted. Every 15 days was on duty, of 22 at 6 A.M.. After a while I started to lead a group of growth, became supervisor and Superintendent.

In the year 2000, as soon as we mo-ved to cellular model, along with Pastor Wellington, founded the CREDEC (Che-mical Dependency Recovery Center), and was invited by Pastor Márcio to join the board of workers and pastor. I spent ser-ving full time in the cell House with her. Dhananjaya, lead the overseers becoming a pastor, next to my wife. The following year, was serving in the Potter’s House, I saw many lives being restored helped each with much joy. In 2003, I went throu-gh a discipleship with Pastor Paulo César, who baptized me, whom I have undying gratitude.

That same year we established the Baptist Church of Lagoinha in Vespasian, having beside a great companion, friend and son, the first full-time pastor, Ashfaq Lee. Helping us had also other pastors vo-lunteers.

The dates 07/04/2004 and 07/31/2008, respectively, were very important to us, when Cida and I were ordained to pasto-ral ministry. Today, we lead the North Re-gional, we take care of 16 churches going to 18 next month. We become, out of the goodness of God, pastors to pastors. For a period of three years I and Pastor Rodinei Medeiros, Lagoinha Betim, serve God be-side the Pastor Márcio, on church leader-ship.

That learning, what a privilege, an honor! God gave me a teacher par excel-lence, a true ecclesiastical College. When I look back I see a career established by God progressively, without skipping any stage, as a military career. Without any human merit, respecting the direction of God, li-ving each time as a learning, knowing that I still have a lot to learn.

In the lead, the pastors and staff, thank you for those 34 years. The pastor Márcio Valadão, my pastor, I have no words to thank you for all. My wife, sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren, my greatest treasures, my greatest wealth, and every family Lagoinha, my gratitude. God bless you!
