Acts 2: the Holy SpiritActs 2: the Holy Spirit• Pentecost (means 50th): refers to the
Jewish feast of harvest held 50 days after the Passover.
• God timed the appearance of the Holy Spirit - and thus the start of the church - to coincide with the Harvest Feast.
• The Apostles experienced the initial Power of the Spirit on this day.

at the same time we are saved. All Christians have the Power & Being of the Spirit dwelling in them (John 3).

The Gifts of the SpiritThe Gifts of the Spirit• Are given by the Holy Spirit at the
time we are saved - at the Spirits discretion - to bring glory to God.
• We are not to seek after certain gifts nor are we to be envious of those that have any certain gift(s). (I Cor 12)
• No gift (or lack thereof) is a sign of the presence of the Spirit - fruit is!
