die drew near, he commanded Solomon his son, saying, 2 I am about
to go the way of all the earth. Be strong, and show yourself a

Slide 6
A Private Command to a Son 1 Kings 2:1-4 3 and keep the charge
of the L ORD your God, walking in his ways & keeping his

Slide 7
A Private Command to a Son Philippians 4:11-13 11 Not that I am
speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation
I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how
to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret
of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all
things through him who strengthens me.

shall build my house and my courts,
Slide 12

of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of the L ORD
your God,

A Public Challenge to a Son 1 Chronicles 28:9-20 9 And you,
Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a

forever.
Slide 14
A Public Challenge to a Son 1 Chronicles 28:9-20 10 Be careful
