Yoga and Meditation Training Programme for Girls

NSS unit of the college, in association with ‘Nirbhaya Kanya Abhiyan’ organised Two months

Yoga and Meditation training programme from 10th

Dec 2013 to 10th

Feb 2014.

In this tenure 30 girls were trained by the Yoga expert Mr. Anirudha Patare. Training was

given to girls students for physical fitness and mind concentration in the demonstration

programme.

The NSS unit of R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur organized a special

camp in the adopted village, Bramhangaon-Vetal from 16/12/ 2013to 22/12/ 2013. The

main project for this camp was based on, to make the village Bramhangaon-Vetal free

from open defecation. The Volunteers of the NSS unit performed many other activities

and awareness programmes such as literacy, tree plantation, health and hygiene,

construction and repairs, communal harmony etc.

and legal especially in the incipient phase of pregnancy, it is long debated issue. The Volunteers

Female infanticide in India has a history spanning centuries. Poverty, the dowry system,

births to unmarried women, deformed infants, famine, lack of support services and maternal

illnesses such as postpartum depression are among the causes that have been proposed to explain

the phenomenon of female infanticide in India.

With an aim to motivate people for not killing baby before her birth, NSS unit of R. B.

Narayanrao Borawake College, Shrirampur organized a Street Play on ‘Female Foeticide’ in the

adopted village, Bramhangaon-Vetal, dated on 16/01/2014. Staging simultaneous acts on the

theme of ‘It's No Sin to be a Girl’ (Ladki Hona Paap Nahin), NSS students were participated

actively in the programme.

Dr. D. K. Mhaske, Principal, R. B. N. B. College, Shrirampur, have acknowledged the

support received from the villagers. Prof. Dr. N. C. Pawar and Dr. A. S. Dalvi were took efforts

Report on ‘Pre-marriage counseling workshop’

‘Vidyarthini Manch’ (Girl Students Forum) of R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College organized a

workshop on ‘Pre Marriage Counseling’ on 15th Dec. 2015. ‘Problems in Marital life’ is a

severe problem for students in upcoming future.

Hon. Sau. Meenatai Jagdhane, Member, Managing council, Rayat Shikshan Sanstha,

Satara has inaugurated a workshop. She talked on ‘the importance of workshop’. She added to it

that marriage is an important part of our life, and if proper care is not taken then we have to face

many problems in our marital life, so, proper counseling is needed.

For the guidance the well-known and reputed Psychiatrists Dr. Anil Bhagwat and Dr

Shobha Bhagwat were invited. They guided present students about the selection of their life

partner and how to eradicate the misunderstanding about the physical relationship after marriage.

Prof. Dr Sunil Cholke, Head, Student Welfare Council, introduced the function. Hon. Dr

K. H. Shinde was the president of programme. All the Staff members and students were present

for the same.

Haemoglobin Check up Camp dated on 25/01/2018.

The blood sample is sent to a lab for analysis. Then Students returned to their usual

activities immediately after the sample is taken. It is informed to the students that the normal

range for haemoglobin is:

For men, 13.5 to 17.5 grams per decilitre

For women, 12.0 to 15.5 grams per decilitre

Dr. Lalit Bansal talked that Cancer, also called malignancy, is an abnormal growth of

cells. There are more than 100 types of cancer, including breast cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer,

colon cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma. Symptoms vary depending on the type. Cancer

treatment may include chemotherapy, radiation, and/or surgery.

The awareness about Cancer and Health was successfully conducted under the guidance

of the college principal, Dr K. H. Shinde, Programme NSS programme Officer Dr S. P. Khilari,

Dr D. D. Shende and Dr S. R. Chavan.
