About us

Anant Prayas is a noble initiative of BIT Sindri Alumni. The organization is

instituted under Central Act II of 1882 in the state of Jharkhand.

Vision A world wherein every talent is fostered with utmost care, compassion and

empathy; a world whose evolution is spearheaded by the most deserving minds.

Mission To seek, nurture and shoulder the growth of potential youth; to ensure no bright

brain is left out due to negligence and dearth of technical or financial resources.

Objective We are aiming to add a greater number of donors so that we can achieve our

first milestone of around 2000 laptops distribution till 2024.

Areas of Our intervention

LAPTOP DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM

The laptop Distribution Program is designed to develop self-

confidence and self-reliance among students. It aims to enable the

modernization of the study and approach of the student to keep

updated to the latest technology. Contributions from the donors and

others, reach the students as financial assistance via Anant Prayas.

FULL STUDY SPONSORSHIP

Funding full studies for students including all the elements as available

in a bank loan and more, to enable the student to grow into a modern

professional. The program in no way compares to a regular loan

scheme, which is designed for profit-making by banks or other lenders.

Though compared on a net cost to student basis, it’s going to be a

boon to the students. This program is not yet launched for submitting

applications. We request commitment and contribution from the donors

in order to finance this initiative.

FUNDING STUDENT’S PROJECTS & INNOVATION

The salient features of this program are below

➢ Establish seed fund via govt./alumni support

➢ Provide mentoring support to prospective entrepreneurs

➢ Provide patent enablement and support

➢ Provide support and funds to participate in major events

across the globe

This event is not yet launched for submitting applications. We request

commitment and contribution from the donors in terms of financing this

initiative

LAPTOP DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM

Seeds of this program were sown in the year 2016 with the distribution of 1 laptop and

till March 2020, there has been a total 7 round in which a total of 28 laptops has been

donated till H2-round 2019. Application for the H2-round of 2019 was started in August 2019 in which a total of 60

applications had been received. This program is the flagship program of the Anant Prayas

and would enable the trust to expand its operations in coming days.

Students are selected based on their application for joining this initiative via online form

in digital format. The applications are initially screened for the four published criteria of

selection namely – Merit, Income of Parents, Branch of Study, year of study and computer

aptitude. After screening of applications, interview is conducted for top students to finalize

the list.

Interview of the selected students is carried out by the Prof. in BIT Sindri, who has been

designated by the Director of BIT Sindri. The interview leads to a final selection of

students.

Some Stats from H2 round of 2019

we have 60 applications, 22 from 4th year, 29 from 3rd year, 8 from 2nd year & 1 from 1st

year.

- 17% applicants are students below 70% marks, 50% are below 80% marks, 97%

applicants are students below 90% & 3% applicants are above 90%.

- 80% applicants under family income of Rs. 100,000 per year.

- 33% from farming family background (probably first in their family to study

engineering),

- many from small jobs, like driver, cable operator, tailor, general store, fruit seller,

daily wage labour and so on.

Other Activities

Counselling Session

We are not limited to support students only financially rather we also support them mentally.

Time to time we conduct counselling sessions for students as well as for other children to

help them in building their careers. Career guidance is very important for students which

enables them to choose their path that will lead them to reach their eminence. When a

student gets a good mentorship, no one can stop him/her from achieving their goal in life and

uplift their family from poverty to benefit all future generations.

Some glimpses of our counselling session

Date-12th May 2019

We addressed a group of children and their

parents who came to visit the park. Our main

motive of the session was to motivate the

children to study. We discussed the role of

ANANT PRAYAS for financially deprived students.

We made them realize that if you have the will to

do something no one can stop you from doing

this. You will find the way automatically to fulfil

this and we are one of those paths.

Date-17th Nov 2019

We addressed an NGO of BIT Sindri who

gives free tuition to local students of

Sindri. We inspired students of

secondary school to study higher and

made them realize to have faith that

people of ANANT PRAYAS would help

them for financial assistance.

Session on Driving Safety

Date - 2nd June 2019

We had conducted a session on Driving safety

for park visitors and students and spread

awareness about using helmets and following

the proper traffic rules. There has been a lot of

deaths that occur due to accident and it could

have been avoided if helmets were used. We

made them realize the importance of helmets.

Mask Distribution

Whatever be the situation either it is a rainy

day or a sunny day or this dreadful

coronavirus pandemic our newspaper

vendors never stopped themselves to provide

us newspaper early in the morning. We are

very much grateful to them. A small

contribution from our ANANT PRAYAS team

was done to provide a mask to these

newspaper vendors at different locations of

Ranchi early in the morning at 4:30 a.m.
