The Glenalmond Activity Programmes have been established to

provide children with the highest quality of coaching in a truly

inspirational setting.

Our Activity Programmes create a safe and enjoyable learning environment, with

fun central to our philosophy. This fun approach, combined with expert coaching and

analysis, enables every participant to develop their skills and self-confidence, both as

an individual and within the group or team dynamic.

Our professional teaching and coaching staff are highly specialised in their chosen

field, and experienced at international level. The Glenalmond approach offers new

concepts and ideas which will provide your child with an enjoyable, engaging

experience, heightening their love of their sport and taking their skills to a new level.

This brochure contains information about all of our 2016 Activity Programme

camps with an outline of the content and approach for each sport, and details of

dates and prices. A booking form is also provided, to secure your child’s place on

the chosen camp.

We hope that you will find this brochure interesting, and we are sure that your child will

benefit from the immersive experience the Glenalmond Activity Programme provides.

GolfNon-residential

The Glenalmond Golf Programme

is designed and tailored by

experienced professionals to

ensure that all age group golfers

have the opportunity to develop

their potential ability through

intensive coaching and purposeful

practice.

During the first session, players will

be profiled and assessed by the golf

professionals. The professionals will then

create an individualised programme to

cater for the participant’s needs, including

mechanical movement using video

profiling. A daily programme will cover

specific swing analysis using long and

short irons, driving and short game play.

Glenalmond College offers an outstanding

setting for golf coaching. The school

has a James Braid nine hole golf course

within its 300 acre campus, giving ample

opportunity for extensive coaching and

practice during the week-long course.

The course will include competitions to

give match experience.

The programme price includes all expert

professional golf tuition and meals. It also

includes the cost of playing on one of

the many links courses located within 20

miles of the school.

HockeyResidential and Non-residential

The Glenalmond Hockey camps are run on our new

international standard water-based astro turf pitch

by top level coaches. All members of the coaching

team have worked at the highest levels ranging from

performance level to international status. All coaches

are registered with all relevant qualifications. The

main objective of the hockey camps is to provide an

enjoyable atmosphere and the very best coaching to

enable participants to enhance their hockey skills.

The varied training syllabus has been designed to deliver

a programme which will cover all aspects of core skill

development to players of all standards. Grass root beginners

will learn the game in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, while

performance athletes will develop their skills while being

inspired by some of the best coaches in the sport. General game

awareness and fitness levels will also be key themes in each

participant’s development during the camp.

All participants will be assessed and then profiled accordingly,

with continual feedback and re-assessment at the end of the

course to enable them to maximise the benefits they gain from

the camp.

The programme cost includes all coaching, meals and

accommodation.

CricketResidential and Non-residential

The Glenalmond Cricket

programme will be run by a

team of qualified, professional

and experienced coaches from

PERFORM Cricket Coaching. This

activity-packed week will provide

young people an opportunity

to learn and play cricket in

a fun environment, whilst

simultaneously offering them the

chance to develop their cricket

skills and potential in the sport.

The camp is open to both boys and girls

between the ages of 10 and 17, and will

include a number of technical sessions

– delivered by coaches with first class

International playing experience – aimed

at improving batting, bowling, fielding,

working as part of a team and athleticism.

Previous playing experience is preferable

but not essential, as the camp will offer

a wide range of activities which can

be tailored to each individual’s ability

level. Video analysis will used during

the technical sessions to help develop

consistent, effective and safe technique.

The programme will also include a variety

of fun and challenging games throughout

the week that will aim to put these

technical skills into practice.

Participants will also be able to take part in

a range of other activities on the school’s

outstanding 300 acre campus, including

tennis, swimming and football. Residential

and non-residential options are available.

The programme price includes all expert

professional cricket coaching, meals

and accommodation (for the residential

option).

TennisDay camps

The Glenalmond Tennis Programme

is designed and tailored for players

of all abilities and potential, from

grass roots to performance

level. The courses are suitable

for all age groups from 5 – 18

years. Specialist adult courses

are also available, with coaching

customised for those playing

simply for enjoyment and for

those playing at a more

competitive standard.

Glenalmond tennis camps are run by

leading coaches and all members of the

coaching team have worked to a high

level ranging from performance level

to international status. All coaches are

registered with all relevant qualifications.

The varied training syllabus has been

designed to deliver a programme

covering all aspects of core skill

development which in turn will allow

grass root beginners to learn the game

in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, while

those playing at a higher level are

motivated and developed with the best

coaching available. The psychology of the

game is also addressed along with tuition

on game awareness and fitness training.

Multi-sport campsDay camps

LacrosseResidential and Non-residential

The Glenalmond Multi-sport

Camps are designed for those

interested in a range of different

sports, and the emphasis is on fun

and participation.

The day camps cater for all age groups

from 5 – 15 years and combine tennis,

volleyball, football, swimming, cricket,

dodge-ball and many other fun activities.

Participants can come along for one

or two days or for a full week and will

have the chance to play a number of

different sports in any day. Health and

educational themes are also incorporated,

with workshops and sessions designed

to develop an awareness of nutrition,

fitness and sport psychology in a fun

environment.

All the sports take place on the

outstanding Glenalmond College 300

acre campus, which has some of the best

sporting facilities in the country.

Like all our other Activity Programmes,

the Multi-sport camps operate with

performance level coaches and all

members of the coaching team have

worked to a high level ranging from

performance level to international status.

All coaches are registered with all relevant

qualifications.

The Multi-sport Camp cost includes all

coaching and lunch each day. The prices

given are for each one-day camp but

several days can be booked as a block

if preferred.

The Glenalmond Lacrosse camps

have been designed to suit players of

all abilities. Players will be grouped

according to experience rather than age,

with beginner, intermediate and advanced

groups. This will allow all players, from

those new to the game to those aiming

for national selection to get the most out

of the experience.

In a fun and friendly environment the girls

will be pushed by the coaches through

four days of skills, drills and lacrosse

based games, including stick tricks,

dodging and shooting, team skills, team

attack, defence and communication.

The lacrosse coaches are all highly

experienced and qualified and will ensure

an enjoyable atmosphere to create the

ideal environment to build a love of the

sport and hone key skills and techniques.

The programme cost includes all coaching,

meals and, for the residential camp,

accommodation.

RugbyResidential and Non-residential camps

Glenalmond Rugby Programme

camps have been designed

with the modern game in mind.

They focus on all round player

development with emphasis placed

on functional skills specific to age

group and ability levels.

The varied training syllabus has been

designed to deliver a programme

which will cover all aspects of core skill

development. Beginners will learn the

basics of the game, while performance

athletes will be able to focus on the

specialist skills for their favoured position.

Match-play proficiency will also be

addressed at each level, ensuring that the

skills learnt are able to be translated to

the competitive arena. Nutrition, sports

psychology and fitness are also covered

within the camp, giving a comprehensive

approach to the participants’

development in the sport.

The coaches on the course are all trained

to the highest levels, with school, club

and international experience. Specialist

coaches for forwards and backs will

provide dedicated training specific to

each participants’ abilities.

All students will be assessed at the start

of the residential course and profiled

accordingly with continual feedback and

re-assessment at the end of the course

to enable players to make the most of the

camp experience.

Participants will also be able to take

part in a range of other activities on

Glenalmond College’s outstanding 300

acre campus including tennis, swimming

and football.

The programme cost includes all

coaching, meals and accommodation

(for the residential camp).

If your child has a severe enough condition that it could be affected by physical activity, please enclose a letter from your own GP giving consent for your child to take part.
