Activities can be repeated Please tick all activities student attempted Activity 1: Read the book ‘It’s about time’. Read out loud the time on each page and see if the time matches the clock. Discuss about what time is. Why do we need time for? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQMBSJhUCAs&t=1s Activity 4: Technology game. Use the link below to access to a website clock. Explore the website and see what you can do. Check if you can manipulate time by changing numbers, dragging clock hands or even simply clicking the dice. It’s time to test your reading time skills. https://www.visnos.com/demos/clock Activity 2: Observe a real clock from home. Describe the attributes that a real clock has (numbers, clock hands, dots etc.). Count the numbers on the clock. Extension: Explain two formats to represent time (12 hour format and 24 hour format) and explain the meaning of a.m. and p.m. in 12 hour format. Discuss about why we need to distinguish from AM to PM in 12 hour format. Activity 5: Use a clock or a phone to set a time alarm to remind you of doing some tasks. For example, set an alarm at 2:00 p.m. to take a nap. Share the experience with someone and discuss if things work better with a time alarm. Activity 3: Use the worksheet 1 to create your own clock. Use the real clock from home to help you put the numbers on the right places. Colour and decorate your own unique clock after you put numbers and clock hands in. Move the clock hands and see if you can read the time. Activity 6: Challenging activity. Use the worksheet 2 to write the time and draw the clock to match the time. Only complete the hours and hour hands if ‘half past’, ‘a quarter past’ and ‘a quarter to’ are too hard to understand. Check your answer with the answer sheet included.

Activity 1: Read the book ‘It’s about time’. Read out loud the time and observe what the boy does on each page. Compare and discuss your daily activities with the boy’s daily activities in the story. Are there any similarities or differences? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQMBSJhUCAs&t=1s

Activity 4: Watch a movie with friends/ family members. Record the time that movie starts and the time that movie ends. Challenge yourself to see if you can figure out how long the movie is.

Activity 2: Use the worksheet 3 to sort out daytime and night-time activities. Discuss about what activities do you do at daytime/night-time. Cut off the activity pictures and put them on the right place.

Activity 5: Go outside for a walk with friends/ family members during daytime (6 a.m-6 p.m.) and after daytime (6 p.m.). Share the experience with someone and decide if you like daytime walking more or night time walking more, why?

Activity 3 Memory game: Use the worksheet 4 and cut off all the clocks below and put clocks’ faces down. Play with a friend and turn over two clock cards each time. Read out

loud the time every time you turn over the card. If you turn over two cards that do not match, those cards are turned

face down again (in the same position). If you turn over two cards that match, you can have those two cards. See who can have more cards in the end. The trick is to remember

which cards are where.

Activity 6: Use the worksheet 5 daily planner to plan a wonderful day for yourself. The ‘sleep’ session has already done for you. You can add any activities to the planner. Don’t forget to leave time for your meals and cleaning! ☺
