Eco Club -World Environment Day - 5th June 21

On June 5 every year, the nature empaths around the globe celebrate World Environment Day, encourage awareness, and observe its protection. Since 1974, World Environment Day has been celebrated, engaging governments, businesses, and citizens in an effort to address pressing environmental issues, with participation from over 143 countries annually. World Environment Day came into existence in 1972 by the United Nations Assembly on the first day Stockholm Conference held on the human environment and later in 1974, the day started to be celebrated with the theme "Only One Earth".This year, the theme of World Environment Day is "Reimagine. Recreate. Restore.". According to the WED website, every three seconds, the world loses enough forest to cover a football pitch, and over the last century, humans have destroyed half of the wetlands. The theme means to prevent, halt and reverse this damage – to go from exploiting nature to healing it. This World Environment Day will kick off the global mission to revive these billions of hectares. Keeping in view the same ,the students of APSDK enthusiastically participated in the awareness campaign.

HINDI DEBATE In the present scenario, there is very limited inter communication amongst students. With the online mode of teaching, it becomes imperative to motivate our students to get involved and participate in activities that reflect on their thought process as well as involve intense communication. Debate is one such platform. It develops self-expression, boosts their confidence, and removes the fear of speaking in public . With this thought in mind, following topics were assigned to the students : Class 7. Playing Video games should be strictly prohibited for the well being of all children. Class 8. Online Education is a better mode of education than offline schooling. Class 9 &10 :ONE NATION ONE ELECTION The students were divided into teams who spoke either in favour of, or against the topic. Participants from each section expressed their views and were later cross questioned by the opposing team. For classes 7th and 8th debate was conducted on 3rd July 21 . It turned out to be a very interactive session with great exchange of views and ideas. It was a pleasant surprise to see students express their views with such clarity of thought. The counter questioning was handled very well by the students. For classes 9 th & 10th Hindi debate was conducted on 9th July 21. The participants surprised the audience by handling such an intense topic with such confidence and maturity .It was a great experience to see our students expressing their independent , unbiased views in an absolutely candid manner. "शहीदों की मजारों पर लगेंगे हर बरस मेले, वतन पर मरन ेवालों का यही बाकी ननशाां होगा" An apt quote by Poet Jagdamba Prasad that salutes the supreme sacrifice of our Martyrs, our National heroes. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 26 July every year in honour of the Kargil War Heroes. This day marks the exemplary courage of our brave soldiers who responded to the intrusion of Pakistan with ‘Operation Vijay’, fighting battles on rugged terrains and fought back from a position of disadvantage to recapture territories occupied by Pakistan.

Keeping the symbol of India’s proud valour and steadfast leadership in mind,Army Public

School,Dhaula Kuan observed Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, 2020 by organizing various activities

through virtual platforms.

On this patriotic occasion, Students of classes 6,7 and 8 expressed their gratitude to the defence

forces through slogan writing , poster making and inspirational audio/video clips with great patriotic

fervour and enthusiasm . Each contribution was a salute to our martyrs who guard our borders

while we sleep peacefully.

Martyrs .

SELF COMPOSED POEMS The Color Of Our Souls We lay safely in our beds, Cause they stand , With their high heads, At border ready to drip; Every last drop of blood. Stop enemies to flood, In our motherland, They swear never To get behind Fight back, And guard our lands, Till they turn into garlands. That's our Indian Army, Fearless and strong, Always right, And never wrong. The olive green, Is all I dream, Comeback wrapped, In saffron, white and green.

SELF COMPOSED POEMS They must have gone away with silent beats, But left immortal tunes inside the heart; They vowed their timeless youth to do its part, Without a thought to medals, fame and feats. To hear their swansong, lend me ears, Their aura gleams upon our tears. The dusty touch of memories embrace The fading portraits never spoken of; Their pristine stream of great courageous love But springs within to carve its lasting trace. They quelled a furnace full of fears, This day fills in for passing years. While marching on as clouds on heaven’s plane, They shone by constellations far and near; Those brisk and buried footsteps still appear, And to the end of time, they shall remain. This day fills in for passing years, Their aura gleams upon our tears. Jai hind jai Bharat. By- PRAKRITI 10 F

IMMORTAL BRAVEHEARTS

Whenever in eternity

A peril befell our nation,

And ever when disunity

Was incited by a fa'tion,

Sprang up our soldiers

Off their own will,

Eradicating all the boulders

Rendering our land tranquil.

Whenever to fetter and hinder

Our freedom and motherland,

Fiendish foreign forces across the border

Dared and dared to tread upon our land,

Anew arose our bravehearts

From the soil of their homeland.

Being of this country of diverse parts

Laying the foes with their plans in sand.

And so we do revere them

For their utmost sacrifice.

Who cared not what may happen to them

By the bullet of the foe as cold as ice.

And though they gave away their lives being

mortal

For they loved their land at heart,

For us they'd invariably remain Immortal,

Each one of them an immortal braveheart.
