TotherightisapictureofaHoneybee.Somepeopletodayareafraidofbeesbecausetheyareabletostingiftheyfeelthreatened.However,beesarealsoveryhelpful.Manythingsthatwehave,eventoday,werecreatedpartlybybees.

That’severythingonthatlist!Buthowcanbeeshelpflowersandberriestogrow?Beespollinateflowers.Whenabeefeedsonaflower,someoftheflower’spollenrubsoffonthebee.Whenthebeecarriesthispollentothenextflower,itleavessomebehind.Thissharingofpollenhelpstheplantmakeseedsandgrow.Nowthatyouseewhybeesaresoimportant,itiseasytounderstandwhybeeswere,andare,welcomedatBoscobel.

Actually,theresidentsofBoscobelwouldnothaveseenanyofthosethingsin1808(theyearBoscobelwascompleted)forthreereasons:

1. Boscobelwasbuiltonaproperty15milessouthofhere.

2. TheBridgewouldnothavebeenbuiltyet.3. Thelandwouldhavebeenclearedof

treesforagriculture.
