GET INTO GOLF Activities for beginners We want people to enjoy their first taste of golf so much that they can’t wait to come back for more! Here’s some ideas for Get into Golf activities. They’re all winners and we’ve learned that group activities are particularly popular with women. They enjoy being with others of similar ability and they love the social side. Remember, it’s the whole package that counts, not just the golf. So make sure the overall experience is great, from the very first welcome to your club. Taster Sessions A one-off, fun session to give people an enjoyable introduction to golf. Encourage them to have a go and find out more about golf. We recommend it’s free and includes a social element. Open Day Show off what your club has to offer. Invite the local community or the friends and families of your current members and players. Put on taster sessions, fun games, skills challenges and even non-golfing ac- tivities. Encourage everyone to explore and enjoy the clubhouse, restaurant and shop. Beginner courses Relaxed and enjoyable group sessions, spread over a number of weeks. These should teach the basics to new players with activity on and off the course. Encourage your beginners to get together socially and for practice – they’ll soon be good golfing friends! Facebook and WhatsApp are great ways for everyone to stay in touch. Learn golf in a day Package a beginner course into one day. Take your players from the range and on to the course and encourage them to social- ise and make friends during refreshment breaks. Improver coursesThese group courses are another ideal way to sharpen skills and gain confidence and can be spread over a number of weeks

On course coachingPlaying holes with a PGA Professional is a great way to gain tips, polish skills and boost confidence.

One to one clinicsIndividually tailored tuition, on or off the course.

Get back into sessionsRefreshers to get people back into the game. Run them over a number of weeks and include time on the course.
