Perhaps you sang a cheerful song; if so, we heard it all. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say. Perhaps you prepared a tasty dish, or maybe furnished a car. Perhaps you rendered a service unseen, near at hand or from afar. Whatever you did to console our hearts, by word or deed or touch, whatever was the kindly part, we thank you, oh so very much. P recious M emoriesRichard Darnell Jones was born on May 6, 1961, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Richard accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Tulsa Public Schools. In high school, Richard excelled and lettered in varsity football. He graduated from Memorial High School, Class of 1980.

Over the next few years, Richard developed a love for music and became “Daddy Rich”, the DJ. He was the life of the party.

On July 10, 1983, Richard’s first son, Nehemiah Darnell Frank-Jones, was born.

Later he met and married the love of his life, LaSandra Brown, affectionately known

as “Honey”. Of their union, two children were born: Kayla Sheron Jones and Richard Darnell Jones II.

Richard loved children, coaching and mentoring, and dedicated over 15 years of community service coaching Little League Football. He was also a football game announcer at area high school games and was blessed with the voice to do it.

Richard was employed in transportation for many years, lending his skills and expertise to Dallas County, Mesquite and Rockwall districts, and also to UPS.

He is preceded in death by his biological father, Edward Lee Cherry, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, LaSandra Jones; sons and daughter, Nehemiah Frank-Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Richard Darnell Jones II and Kayla Sheron Jones, both of Dallas, Texas; parents, Onita and David Beard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers and one sister, Christopher Cherry Jones, Terrence Cherry, and Demeta Jo Gibbs-Brewer, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one aunt, Gladys Ruth Dean of Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.

P salm 23The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He

leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the path of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff

they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil. My cup runneth over. Surely

goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord,

forever.

I H ave M y RewardThe road you traveled has come to an end.

You started on this journey one day; and theLord has guided you every step of the way.

Some days, you would get tired and so very weak, but we thank the Lord for taking care of you.

You fought a good fight, you kept the faith, and

now, your reward is the pearly white gates. As you come to the end of the road,

God has also awarded you a beautiful whiterobe and placed on your

head a golden crown. We will miss you dearly,

but we know everything is all right, for your name is now written in the

Lamb’s book of life.Love You Forever

Daddy, words can’t explain how much I am going to miss you! From early childhood up until us being young adults, you gave Peanut and me the best memories. My friends looked up to you as their own daddy. Your

sense of humor, your love for music, and your love for us will always be with us forever. Your one and only daughter.

I love you! Kayla Aka, “Boo”

“Dad, I am because your are. I will forever cherish your booming voice, peculiar laughter, and warm embrace in my memories – I love you. Iba se egungun, Baba”

Your son, Nehemiah D. Frank-Jones

You will always be in my heart forever.

Love, Mom

I Love you.... your brother, Chris

I’ve always told my brother so that he would know he meant the world to me,Only a heart as dear as yours would give so unselfishly.

The many things you’ve done, and all the times that you were there, let me know down deep inside just how much you cared. You were my shoulder to lean on, a loving touch. That’s why the sister loves her brother so much. There’s no other love like a love for a brother, There’s No Other Love Like The Love from a brother.

I was the one who was blessed to have a brother like you.

Until then, Your sister, Demeta

I love you.... your brother, Terrence

Richard, we will love you forever, and you will always have a special place in each of our hearts.

Your loving family, “The Blacknall, Webb and Brown Family”

To M y Love, I have shared over half my life with you.

I left my parents’ home to make a home with you.I thank you for giving me the opportunity to love and

watch over you, and now I ask that you watch over meas I learn to walk this journey for the first time without

you by my side. I will miss you and love you always.

Your Wife & Honey, LaSandra

You raised a young king, Dad, and I will NEVER forget what you taught me. You were the true definition of a perfect role model in my eyes, and I will forever be thankful to have had you in my life. I am proud and honored to carry your name and have your legacy to

continue to live through me.

Love, your son, Richard Darnell Jones II Aka, “Chip”
