    NIFTY 50+ MONTHLY SENIOR CLUB Join the best monthly senior club around! Have so much fun socializing while playing bingo, cards, and games. Refreshments, coffee, and tea are available at each meeting. What kind of things should we do at our monthly meeting? Come to our social meetings to share your ideas.

    Meetings are usually the 4th Wednesday of every month from 1-3pm at the Recreation Center (240 Commerce Drive, Grayslake). There is a $2 fee per person collected at the door at each meeting.

    LET’S DO LUNCH Age: Active Adults, 55 years & up Hey, let’s do lunch! Each month try out a different restaurant with us. Some months the fare may be ethnic food and others may be American favorites. Sometimes we go out for lunch, other times for dinner. The cost is $5 per trip to cover van transportation and you cover the meal on your own. Restaurants are subject to change if they are unable to accommodate our group. (SR)

    GALOS CAVES & JOLLY INN RESTAURANT Age: Active Adults, 50 years & up The magic world of salt, miraculous rest, health, and relaxation invites you to spend time in Galos. Enjoy a relaxing 45 minute session in the man-made salt-iodine cave. In the cave, air intensively saturated with particles of iodine and salt has an anti-inflammatory action and stimulates the immune system. Please bring an extra pair of clean white socks and dress in comfortable or loose-fitting clothing. Galos suggests you consult with your physician if you have: hyperthyroidism, cancer, low blood pressure, allergy to iodine or claustrophobia. After your time in the cave, enjoy a traditional buffet of Polish entrees at the Jolly Inn Restaurant. Trip includes Galos Cave session, lunch, and transportation by Park District Bus.     BOCCE & ITALIAN LUNCHEON NORTHBROOK, IL Age: Active Adults, 50 years & up Pinstripes was built from a passion to gather, to celebrate, and to experience sophisticated fun. Bocce, also known as Italian lawn bowling, is one of the most widely played games in the world. It is simple and can be played by people of all ages and skill levels. Prepare for two hours of bocce fun with a delicious, family-style Italian lunch of chopped salad, Caesar salad, meat lasagna, and penne pomodoro with coffee, tea, and soda. Take a break from the action to nibble on a dessert of house made cookies, Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownies, and Anna’s carrot cake. Whether you’re competitive, or just looking for a relaxing day out with friends, Pinstripes is the place to be. Trip includes transportation by Park District bus, bocce, and lunch. Minimal walking.     ILLINOIS HOLOCAUST MUSEUM Age: Active Adults, 50 years & up The third-largest Holocaust museum in the world, Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center provides a world- class museum and education experience dedicated to preserving the memories of those lost in the Holocaust as well as teaching current generations about the need to fight hatred, indifference and genocide in today’s world. The visit begins with a catered boxed deli lunch of three mini sandwiches (turkey breast, corned beef, and egg salad), fresh fruit cup, pickle, jumbo chocolate chip cookie, and bottled water. Option of vegetarian mini sandwiches - egg salad, cheese, and veggie cream cheese available. Please indicate sandwich type at time of registration. After lunch, explore the museum on a private docent-guided tour, which provides context, understanding and clarity throughout the exhibit.     MORE THAN A MISSION Age: Adults, 18 years & up Experience ‘Volun-tourism’ - a truly inspirational way to have fun and give back at the same time! Be a part of Feed My Starving Children’s mission of eliminating starvation in children throughout the world by hand packing meals specially formulated for malnourished children. Please note: Participants should wear no jewelry, and be able to stand for 1.5 hours; however, there are some sitting jobs sitting and breaks are encouraged, if needed. At the end, learn how many meals were packed, and when and where they are headed. After, enjoy lunch on your own at Baker’s Square. Trip includes transportation by Park District bus. Lunch is on your own. This trip is being offered in collaboration with SRSNLC. Minimal walking but extensive standing. (SR)

    T-BALL SKILLS CLINIC Age: 5 - 7 years, girls & boys This introductory t-ball program is perfect for the child who wants to have fun, make new friends and be introduced to baseball. Participants enjoy learning the skills needed to play baseball including offense and defense, as well as the rules and philosophies of the game. The program emphasizes teamwork over competition. All you need to bring is a glove and sports attire. This is a contractual program. (TP)

    BASEBALL 101 Age: 8 - 13 years, girls & boys This beginner’s baseball class gives players a full introduction to the great sport of baseball. Players are instructed on all aspects of the game in a fun and learning environment. This program teaches the fundamentals of stretching, base running, throwing and catching, and hitting off a tee from live pitching, playing various positions in the field, game play and strategy, and at home practice tips. Participants should bring their own bats and gloves. This is a contractual program. (TP).

    SUMMER T-BALL LEAGUE Age: 4 - 7 years, girls & boys Come enjoy the summer while learning the basics of baseball, with the help of a tee (older division will have option of tee or coach pitch). Teams will practice one night per week and play games on Saturdays. Also, each team will have two weekday evening games, making a total of 8 games for the season. Volunteer parents serve as coaches. Please request coach or teammates at time of registration. All players and coaches will receive replica Major League Baseball Jerseys and Caps as uniforms.
