Please bring an extra pair of clean white socks and dress in comfortable or loose-fitting clothing. Galos suggests you consult with your physician if you have: hyperthyroidism, cancer, low blood pressure, allergy to iodine or claustrophobia. After your time in the cave, enjoy a traditional buffet of Polish entrees at the Jolly Inn Restaurant. Trip includes Galos Cave session, lunch, and transportation by Park District Bus. Bocce, also known as Italian lawn bowling, is one of the most widely played games in the world. It is simple and can be played by people of all ages and skill levels. Prepare for two hours of bocce fun with a delicious, family-style Italian lunch of chopped salad, Caesar salad, meat lasagna, and penne pomodoro with coffee, tea, and soda. Take a break from the action to nibble on a dessert of house made cookies, Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownies, and Anna’s carrot cake. ILLINOIS HOLOCAUST MUSEUMAge: Active Adults, 50 years & upThe third-largest Holocaust museum in the world, Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center provides a world-class museum and education experience dedicated to preserving the memories of those lost in the Holocaust as well as teaching current generations about the need to fight hatred, indifference and genocide in today’s world. The visit begins with a catered boxed deli lunch of three mini sandwiches (turkey breast, corned beef, and egg salad), fresh fruit cup, pickle, jumbo chocolate chip cookie, and bottled water. Option of vegetarian mini sandwiches - egg salad, cheese, and veggie cream cheese available. Please indicate sandwich type at time of registration. After lunch, explore the museum on a private docent-guided tour, which provides context, understanding and clarity throughout the exhibit. MORE THAN A MISSIONAge: Adults, 18 years & upExperience ‘Volun-tourism’ - a truly inspirational way to have fun and give back at the same time! Be a part of Feed My Starving Children’s mission of eliminating starvation in children throughout the world by hand packing meals specially formulated for malnourished children. Please note: Participants should wear no jewelry, and be able to stand for 1.5 hours; however, there are some sitting jobs sitting and breaks are encouraged, if needed. At the end, learn how many meals were packed, and when and where they are headed. After, enjoy lunch on your own at Baker’s Square. Trip includes transportation by Park District bus. T-BALL SKILLS CLINICAge: 5 - 7 years, girls & boysThis introductory t-ball program is perfect for the child who wants to have fun, make new friends and be introduced to baseball. Participants enjoy learning the skills needed to play baseball including offense and defense, as well as the rules and philosophies of the game. The program emphasizes teamwork over competition. PWR!4LIFE (PARKINSON’S WELLNESS RECOVERY)Age: 18 years & upPWR Moves is a research-based, integrated exercise and wellness program that counteract the inactivity, motor deterioration, and symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. PWR Moves was developed by Dr. Becky Farley, a leading researcher and instructor in exercise for Parkinson’s Disease.
