This month I will share 2 quotes with you from my recent reading. Read on Facebook: I don't want to experience the alternative to celebrating aging...(resistance, fear, anger, sadness, giving in to the media or society's views on aging). God's views on aging tells us we all should be celebrating growing older. God gives us gifts to celebrate such as continued spiritual growth, purpose, wisdom, time, second chances, new beginnings, to share our stories, to create our legacy, to complete our journey...there is so much to celebrate. And, from Bob Goff’s twitter feed: Everybody wants to make a difference in the world; only a few people want to be different than the world. As I thought about these two quotes, I realized it’s a waste of energy to fret over the world’s view of aging. We are not of this world! We need to look to our loving heavenly Father for our worth, our value, and our purpose, as well as the strength and wisdom to continue serving him and loving others as he has commanded we do. If you find yourself tempted to feel overlooked or unappreciated, invite a friend to meet with you to pray about that and to remind each other that God loves you and is still working in and through you. Isaiah 46:4 I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.
