    Un ora de blocuri rspndit ca o tumoare n oraul vechi: n nici o capital din ostullagr socialist (european) nu regseti cevacomparabil cu marile operaii totalitare dinanii 70 i 80.Pn atunci, Bucuretiul postbelic cu-noscuse doar mici ansambluri staliniste,extinderea prin cartiere uncionaliste, iar ncentru, intervenii punctuale. Radicalizarearegimului Ceauescu a mers mn-n mncu modernizarea oraului istoric de

    apt, cu proiectul de nlocuire complet a

    acestuia cu un ora de tip nou, colectiv iomogen, instrument i expresie a construi-rii unei noi societi.Datorit dorinei dictatorului de a obine ctmai rapid noua scenogra e, s-a nceput cudemolri liniare de-a lungul unor axe prin-cipale (existente sau noi), urmate de con-struirea unor ronturi continue i uni orme.Din ericire, pasul urmtor avansarea cudemolarea i reconstruirea n pro unzime nu a apucat s e dus la capt.De aceea, situaia se prezent azi sub

    orma unor cortine de beton de-a lungul

    bulevardelor, care ascund n spatele lorspaii libere neregulate (poriuni demolatei rmase libere) i o zon central tiatabrupt, de multe ori valoroas i aproapeintact. Densitatea este considerabil,spaiul liber, extrem de redus.
