Activated B vitaminsActivated Bs Plus Ubiquinol contains vitamins B2, B6, B9 and B12 in their activated forms, bypassing the conversion steps that these nutrients need to go through to be utilised by the body.

Riboflavin sodium phosphate (activated B2)Riboflavin sodium phosphate or riboflavin 5-phosphate sodium, also known as flavin mononucleotide (FMN), is one of the active coenzyme forms of vitamin B2. Supplementation with this active B2 form avoids the first phosphorylation step of riboflavin conversion.1

Vitamin B2 contributes to energy production by being central to carbohydrate, protein and lipid metabolism.2

Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (activated B6)Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P) is the metabolically active coenzyme form of vitamin B6. Other forms, such as pyridoxine hydrochloride, need to be converted to P5P in the liver before they can be utilised by tissues.3

B6 may be a beneficial nutrient in times of stress,2 and alongside B5, is important for adrenal hormone production.2,4

5-MTHF (activated B9)5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF), the active form of folate, does not require the enzymes dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) or methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) to be made bioavailable in the body, benefiting those with a reduced capacity for producing MTHFR.5

5-MTHF is important in healthy methylation and homocysteine metabolism,6 as well as contributing to healthy foetal growth in pregnancy.7

Mecobalamin (activated B12)Mecobalamin is one of the forms of vitamin B12 which are biologically active in the body,8 removing the necessity for conversion.

Vitamin B12 is a cofactor in the metabolism of homocysteine, as well as being an important part of erythropoiesis.9

UbiquinolUbiquinol is a highly bioavailable form of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10).10 Ubiquinol is an essential component of the mitochondria, and hence energy production, as well as functioning as an antioxidant to reduce oxidative stress. 11
