Ultra is celebrating all the new destinations in Africa that we added to uTalk last month! Now your customers can get in touch with family and friends in South Africa, Kenya, Somalia in addition to the unlimited international African destinations included on all plans! Our goal is to reach even more customers hoping to stay in touch with friends and loved ones in the largest continent in the world!

Do you realize how large Africa is? Africa is bigger than the United States,

China, Europe, and India COMBINED! That is seriously big, at 30.4 million square kilometers (or 11.73 million miles) with a population of 1.2 billion and growing. That’s why we’re Ultra excited to offer uTalk to 18 new destinations in Africa!

Ultra is thrilled to be an important part of staying connected around the globe, and even more excited to connect more customers to this fascinating place.

ULTRA DESTINATIONS IN AFRICA

There are over one thousand languages spoken in Africa by its various tribes and people, and there are more French speakers in Africa than in France.

Africa is home to the longest river (the Nile, running through 11 countries), the largest waterfall (Victoria Falls on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe) and the largest desert, the Sahara.

The Sahara desert is almost as big as the continental United States! Can you imagine the entire U.S. covered in sand dunes?

There is a beer brewed from bananas that comes from Africa called “Raha”.

You might think tigers live in Africa because lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and rhinos do – but tigers only live in Asia.

WHAT NEW DEMOGRAPHICS/SEGMENTS OF CUSTOMERS ARE YOUR RETAILERS NOW ABLE TO ACQUIRE/BETTER SERVICE WITH ULTRA?Nigerians. uTalk helps tremendously to get them to switch from competitors. Having more African demos such as Egypt and Cameroon help as well.

WHAT DO YOUR RETAILERS LIKE ABOUT UTALK – WHAT WAS THEIR REACTION WHEN YOU TOLD THEM ABOUT THE REFRESH?The customers are excited and in disbelief with the new uTalk options in Nigeria. They often ask, 'is this for real?”

WHAT ARE YOUR RETAILERS MOST EXCITED ABOUT?Calling home! Many customers don’t think there’s a phone company that has minutes for free included in plan. A lot of retailers are looking forward to pushing uTalk to customers on plans at comparable price points with competitors. WHERE ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS FROM?People from Somalia and Ethiopia have been in the neighborhood since I have been here and now Ultra has solutions for them. DOES UTALK HELP YOUR CUSTOMERS?Giving them some free minutes to call home when they are typically expensive countries to call helps. WHAT DO THEY LOVE ABOUT IT? That they have bonus minutes to countries that typically do not get minutes to those countries. This gives me an opportunity to present Ultra to customers that may be on another carrier since they can get free minutes to call. WHICH NEW COUNTRIES ON UTALK ARE THEY EXCITED TO CALL?Ethiopia will probably be the most beneficial. With an Ethiopian restaurant next door this can help when customers walk by.

HOW IS UTALK HELPING RETAILERS GET MORE CUSTOMERS?The 500 minutes to Nigeria on uTalk has helped Billy, EP Wireless, switch more customers from competitive carriers, and gotten customers who were using Boss Revolution to start using Ultra. He explains to them that mobile calls are included and that calls are direct dial. He’s also excited as he's been getting referrals from existing Nigerian customers. WHAT NEW DEMOGRAPHICS ARE THEY ABLE TO ACQUIRE?Nigeria is currently their 3rd top country, but Billy believes that our new uTalk Africa offer will help him expand his Nigerian demographic. WHAT DOES THE RETAILER LIKE ABOUT UTALK?That he can finally offer an inexpensive plan with bonus minutes to Nigeria. He says that many customers would complain about carriers not offering bonus minutes to Nigeria, so he was excited to tell his customers about uTalk. He was also excited about putting up the new uTalk posters.

I was very excited to hear about the additions because other carriers don’t have the best offers. WHAT DO THEY LOVE ABOUT IT?They love the simplicity of having bonus minutes that target their country and that it’s affordable unlike other calling cards or plans. They also like direct calling unlike calling cards where you need to dial an access code and PIN. place, Holi is celebrated in nearly every

part of the country! It is also sometimes

called the festival of love, as many

people get together and celebrate,

leaving resentments and bad feelings

towards each other in the past.

JOYWhat better way to celebrate than with

play? On Holi, people play with bright

pigmented powder, getting covered in

bright vibrant shades that celebrate the

joy of life and encouraging positivity

and happiness. That combined with

eating Holi delicacies and dancing to

music--this festival of color is also a

celebration of food and music!

LIGHTTo prepare, people light large bonfires

chanting sacred texts from the Rig

Veda, an ancient Indian collection

of sanskrit hymns. Dancing is also

encouraged to ward off evil spirits!

People celebrating also sing and

dance to the beat of the dholak, a hand

drum played at celebrations!
