The course began with the primary aspects that characterized each of the cultures represented. Addressed the communication codes of different cultures and compared the similarities and differences. Addressed to the facilitators of communication between cultures. Concluded the course with the autobiography of each linguistic form, following all the same development plan.

Language Autobiography

I'm Adilson Afonso, I’m Cape Verdean and have two children.

My mother tongue is Creole and my foreign language is Portuguese.

I have memories of when it was tin cars and play with friends, go to thegrazed with my parents and take care of the goats.

My grandmother told me that in 1947 she spent a lot of hunger, in otherwords, the whole country was starving and what little family found herhiding in the attic because there was always a smart who stole the food. There dinedand spent days without eating, and when they found it was just eating a pint ofCompal, at that time, was tin, full of corn and put a pot and made ilodo corn, which is like popcorn.

Memories: in Cape Verde, with corn, did various type of food: cachupa, corn starch,Camoca, maize porridge, corn ilodo, and other great things.

Adilson Afonso

I am Admilson Semedo.

My native language is Creole. My foreign language is Portuguese.

My best childhood memory was to have had a healthy life.

My mother is Lucia Pires and my father is Dominic Semedo, my grandfatheris Julius. My families are Nuno, Dé, Patricia, Édis and Leny.

My country is Cape Verde, "Love Land". Cape Verde's land sabi (goodscenery and is a land of beauty).

I worked in Cape Verde, but I took a fall and was displaced with the bonesand went to the hospital. There has to be more than 3 days. I came hereand I'm happier because I am very fond of this place.

My name is Alina, I am a native of Cape Verde.Right now I'm at home and take care of a baby of my neighbor andhomework.

My language is Cape Verde, but also speaks Portuguese and Creole.

I am reminded of my four children: one is in Cape Verde, two inPortugal and France.

I have eight grandchildren.My parents and grandparents have died and were all Cape Verdeans.

I have my family in Cape Verde and some also in Portugal.My country is being poor, but rich in nature.

My name is Elisângela, I 'm 31 years old and Cape Verde.My mother tongue is “Kriolo”, in other words, the Cape Verdean Creole.And “I off the hook “with the Portuguese and Spanish.My country is made up of 10 islands (Santo Antao, Sao Vicente, SantaLuzia, São Nicolau, Sal, Boa Vista, Maio, Santiago, Fogo and Brava) and I 'mfrom Santiago Island.When I was little, i didn’t like watching cartoons, or playing with dolls. Elisângela Almeida

My mother had ten children and I am the ninth. It was very difficult becausewhen he died were all minor and my mother still created three more children whowere only my father. She worked hard. She was a teacher, seamstress and peddler. Iremember that very little, was selling fresh water market and the wharf . But mymother, it was a very brave and courageous woman, much loved by us all.Unfortunately, I lost her 8 years ago.I never knew my grandparents, because when I was born they had all died,unfortunately.My family is huge, like I said my mother had ten children and my father Twenty Eight.We have spent many difficulties, but we won, thank God.I love the culture of my country.

Our traditional dishes are Cachupa, Xerem Tenterem...In terms of music and dances have: Batuku, Funaná, Coladeira and Mazurka ...“I love", have two sons: the Luah (6 years) and Umar (4 years), and I love my husbandvery much. We've been together 15 years and he gave me my two treasures that arethe reason I live.

Ihave eight children, four boys and four girls have thirteen grandchildrenand they taste great.I'm in Portugal for fifteen years, I have 59 years and I miss my children

andgrandchildren who are in Cape Verde.

I have worked in the Civil Registry and the Municipality of Porto Novoand went trader.My country is poor because it has no mines of gold or diamonds, butwe have peace with God and is a country with a very warm and niceatmosphere. We have our warm and splicer, and funaná Batuk. Our favorite dish is the feijoada and cachupa.Cape Verde has 10 Island, S. Anthony, S. Vicente, Santa Luzia, SãoNicolau, Sal, Boa Vista, Maio, Santiago, Fogo, Brava. Santa Luzia isuninhabited island. Each island has its own dialect.

I'm Catholic , June 24 we party Sanjon and pasted at the party.



Filomena Mendes

My name is Joana Moreira. I have 79 years and have five children living,because one died. My son who died have three grandchildren, else I havesix grandchildren, and else I have three grandchildren, two grandchildrenof another and only one of another. Altogether I have fifteengrandchildren; six are in Portugal and the other in Cape Verde. My childrennow help me. Worked but now it does not work anymore.My mother tongue is Creole but I understand a little Portuguese.I miss my children I have in Cape Verde.All my life I worked in agriculture and it was very tiring.I'm only here for 4 months.



Joana Moreira

My name is Joginder Singh and I am married. I have two boys, one withsixteen and another eleven years.I love my wife doing Indian clothes and I work cleaning houses.My mother tongue is Indian and my foreign languages are English andPortuguese.

My memories are helping my mother cook and I miss her who died lastyear, aged 85, but in peace. Everybody liked her very much and still missyou.My father died very early in an automobile accident.I miss my family and culture, especially the Hindu religion.



Joginder Singh

I'm Leiden, I'm 20 and I have a five year old daughter. I am a singlemom, I'm unemployed, but I'm looking for new opportunities, always.My mother tongue is Creole and foreign is Portuguese.My memories are of a very happy childhood, but as all is not a bed ofroses, I also had my bitterness.

My parents are from Cape Verde, born and died there. They told methat my brothers were very happy and had eight children. Difficultiescame together but lived one day at a time, raised their childrentogether until they are all great and in fact were very happy. Mygrandparents never met, to my regret.


Leida Almeida

Well, my family is very large. Altogether we say twenty-one brothers, butdo not know if this is true why having not met everyone. Met some, likethem very much and are very attached to each other. Always help the onewho needs help. I love my family.

I do not know a lot of my people, but what little I know is that we like todance, listen to music and singing. We like to party, we always lively, always with a smile on his face, we are always happy. At parties like to do

My name is Lucia, was born in Cape Verde, as I work cleaning houses.

My language is Cape Verde, but also speaks Portuguese and Creole.

I miss the time when I learned to work in picking sand, selling fish and sellbread.I still remember my children, and my neighbors land.

My parents and grandparents have died, the part of my mother. Mygrandfather was Portuguese, Viseu, but my father was Cape Verdean.

My family is divided, five children in Cape Verde and that is me. I am in thecompany of my husband.

Got the idea from my country to be a bit poor, but rich in sea fishing andculture.

I 'm Mary, I'm married and have 50 years. I have six children, five boys and a girl. Mysecond son died aged 18 and was five. I have three with me and one is in France withhis family and another in Cape Verde. I have four grandchildren. Work here inclenings and my husband is unemployed. I miss my son and my grandchildren whoare in Cape Verde.

My mother tongue is Creole and the Portuguese foreign language.

My memories ... When I was playing very small, and studied at twelve startedworking. I worked hard in the field to take care of animals.My father died 17 years ago and my mother died 2 years ago. My grandparents didnot know.

My family ... We are eleven children, one died, were six boys and four girls. We are all welland we treat us too well.

My land is Cape Verde, which I really miss him and my family. I've been here four years. Imiss my grandchildren, two girls and a boy, who are in France.

I am Romário.My mother tongue is Creole and my foreign language is Portuguese.I have memories of my zone and my friends.On my island there is a lot of wealth, but a lot of poverty. The manwho took the independence of Cabo Verde, Amilcar Cabral was.I'm here in Portugal 11 months ago and I miss my family and myfriends.

About Me ... I'm Neusa Euridice Ramos Semedo, was born in Cabo Verde, apoor country but at the same time rich in natural resources. We have somebeautiful beaches, which are much sought after by people worldwide. Wealso have a very rich flora and fauna. I would also like to live in Cape Verde,but unfortunately I can not, for two reasons: for health reasons my deardaughter Elisiane and I'm here to work and Cabo Verde is very difficult toget a job to support us. So for now, I'll stay a little.

My native language is Creole, because this was what I learned from thecradle. Creole is a language for me very important because they neverforget. My foreign language is Portuguese because in Cabo Verde knewexisted but only in Portuguese schools. Sometimes the teacher or teacherspoke Portuguese and sometimes required just talk in class , but cominghome already forgot everything. Now I can speak and understand a bit ofPortuguese.

My memories are all those that remember and get to wipe the tears. Frommy experiences and shared experiences with my family and friends, thosewho feel the same deep longing from deep. My parents and mygrandparents .... I really miss my mother, my father is dead but I miss him.My grandparents have always been very dear. At the moment I only havemy grandmother who is 86 and is a relic. My family consists of sixbrothers. We have always been a very family united. As you know, CaboVerde is a poor country but in my family there was always that thing ofshowing solidarity with each other and if a person has something everyonehas. A little history of my country.... Cabo Verde is formed by islands andislets. Cabo Verde is a country of morabeza. We have our tropical fruitsthat are very good. Cape Verde is a very mountainous country. We haveour beautiful beaches, the best fish and seafood, we also have the warmand coladeiras and funaná and our famous " cachupa " which is knownworldwide. Cape Verde is a country very rich in love. We are a peopleunited.
