ABSTRACT The Argeş County Museum is the beneficiar of an Agral project. This Agral Project has as

objective a touristic map that include viticulture areas from Argeş and Vâlcea counties, wine

caves, monasteries, memorial houses, museums etc. The Road of Wine cross along the following

setlements: Leordeni, Topoloveni, Goleşti, Ştefan eşti, Valea Mare-Podgoria, Bălceşti,

Sâmbureşti,Drăgăşani, Băbeni, Râureni, Bujoreni, Călimăneşti. The project aim to draw

attention not only on viticulture areas, on viticulture activity based setlements, but also on local

folklore, cult urc and history.

Beginning with theyear 2003, theyear when the western mountainside ofthe Dragosloveni Valley was defovested, direct observations for the incipient successional stages of vegetations were made. T/iese observations, which will take place over more years, require periodical studies upon the same surfaces, analysing structurally the present phytocoenosis, a method combined with that of successively charting the vegetation. A veracious prognosis upon the processes which will take place after the complete deforestation may be made.

PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ROMANIAN HONEY

ABSTRACT The purpose of the study was to investigate the physical and chemical characteristics of four

Romanian monoflorals sorts of honey, namely acacia (from Robinia pseudacacia L.), linden

(from Tillia sp.), sun-flower (from Helianthus annuus), and colza (from Brassica mapus

oleifera L.).

The water content, the diastazic index, the hydroxy methyl furfural content, the pollen

spectrum, the acidity and the concentration of some simple saccharides (fructose, glucose),

iisaccharides (maltose, sucrose), trisaccharides (melesitose) and oligosaccharides (higher

sugars) have been determined. The results show that:

-the chemical composition of Romanian honey varied from one sorts of honey to another;

-the sugar spectrum is characteristic to every sort of honey, and the concentration of fructose,

glucose, and maltose are criteria to differentiate the monoflorals sorts of Romanian honey.

ABSTRACT:

The study of the two families took into account the economical factor, because there are not

only few species of Rhynchitidae and Attelahidae that produce damages in the vineyard and

fruit-growing areas, the forest ones and agricultural cultures. For establishing the

structural parameters there was processed a rich material of over 1244 adult samples

belonging to 17 species, from the total of 29 species that are to be found on Romanian

territory. The material comes from 42 localities. The way of collecting was directly with the

hand, with the entomological net, through the test wells done in the soil, the usage of the

installation for the humidity degree and the device for obtaining the oofag (eggeating)

parasites.

ABSTRACT:

The evolution together of the species of insects with different groups of plants supposed the

providing the achievement of the essential functions(such as nourishment, reproduction,

defence and spreading) for the two categories of organisms, as well as the appearance and

the natural selection and of some reciprocal adaptations. Between 1996-2000 were made

observations both on the adults and on the larvae belonging to the 17 species of

Rhynchitidae and Attelabidae in the Sibiu Depression, Vdlcea County and Covasna. The

member of collecting points was 42. For completing the data we appealed to the preserved

material as well (1525 samples) belonging to different collections all over the country. The

correlation plant-rinchitid, attelabid must be regarded like a permanent process of

adaptation, step by step, which favours the existence of both categories of organisms,

provides the persistence in time and space of their populations and at last the persistence of the

system.

ABSTRACT: Up to now, the milk quality was analysed to determine the following characteristic:

density, acidity, fat substance and the protein. Because, the European Union legislation

besides Romanian legislation has plus the characteristics which have to be analysed, in our work we succeed to determine the somatic cells number and the bacterium per

millititre. This study was accomplish in Sibiu area at different dairy farms.

SUMMARY: This paper is aimed at analysing the main reproduction indices in mares belonging to

the Romanian sport breed. The observation was performed on 40 mares bred at

Jegdlia, based on the data collected between 1994-2004. The above-mentioned lot was tested for its reproductive parameters from its

introduction to reproduction until the eleventh briging forth inclusively, according

to each mare^s employment time length.

The reproduction indices analysed were: the mares* average age etfirst mating, the

mares age at first bringing forth; average service period, service period at first birth,

average calving interval and average time lenght of gestation.

Scopul acestei lucrari afost de a cerceta principalii indici de reproductie la iepele din

rasa calul de sport romanesc. Observatiile au fost facute pe un efectiv de 40 de iepe din

herghelia Jegdlia pe baza datelor din perioada 1994-2004. La efectivul mentionat s-au studiat parametrii reproductivi din momentul introducerii la reproductie pdna la a 11-

a fatare inclusiv, infunctie de durata defolosire a fiecdrei femele.

Indicii de reproductie analizati aufost: vdrsta medie a iepelor la prima montd, varsta

medie a iepelor la prima fatare, service periodul mediu si service periodul la

primipare, calving intervalul mediu si durata medie a gestatiei.

ABSTRACT:

Evaluation of Festuca arundinacea Schreb. polycross descendences concerning forage and

seed yield potential

Improvement of seed yield potential correlated with a high forage yield capacity is the major

breeding objective of perennial grass species. In the aim to fiind the genetic gain, both for

forage and seed yield capacity, 24 selected parental clones of Festuca arundinacea (tall fescue)

and their progenies were assesed. The genetic gain of the polycross descendents for the forage

yield was 36% for PI and 43% for P2 and for the actual yield capacity the genetic gain was

67% for PI and 9% for P2. The descendents which exceeded their parents, both for forage and

seed yield capacity are included in a new cycle of recurent selection.

In field polyfactorial trial, carried out in 2002 - 2004 in warm maize production area with medium heavy brown soil, the influence of year, weather conditions, varieties (Swing and Flair) and variants of Atonik and Polybor 150 applications on sugar beet root yield and digestion was observed. In trials was high significant influence of weather conditions and Atonik and Polybor 150 applications on formation of monitored yield parameters. According to acquired yield (58.87 Lha"1) and digestion (19.90 °S) as the most optimal variant in given soil and weather conditions was shown the variant C (Atonik: 0.4 l.ha"1 - 2. post-emergence herbicide application + Atonik + Polybor 150: 0.6 + 2.5 l.ha"1 -3. post-emergence herbicide application - Atonik + Polybor 150: 0.6 + 2.5 l.ha"' - 1. fungicide treatment). Significant root yield values achieved the variety Flair (+ 1.28 t.ha"1 compared with Swing) and digestion values achieved the variety Swing (+ 0.26 °S compared with Flair). The highest root yield (70.68 t.ha"1) and digestion (24.85 °S) were achieved in 2002 and 2004 at the variety Swing.' According to agroecological conditions, achieved productive and technological yield parameters of sugar beet suggest to the possibility of the most optimal term specification of preparation application, which would eliminate the unfavourable influence of weather conditions on minimal level.

predatory hemipteres ofNabidae and Meridae families. On the same cereal plants, some

coleopteres of Coccinelidae and neuropteres of Chrysopidae family, have developed

dense population. From crisopides, Chrysopa carnea Stephens species, has developed

more, standing out numerical among the predators with mastication and ripping oral

apparatus.

ABSTRACT: Transylvanian Naked Neck breed was acquainted in 1875 at the Vienna Fair, where a

woman from Transylvania presented a homogenous group of hens having the neck naked.

In Romania, nowadays this breed is considered to be an endangered breed. The paper aims

to contribute to promotion, rearing and conservation of this population by making evident

the development model and speed of the embryos, using the measurements carried out at

26, 30, 40, 50, and 60 hours of incubation on embryos1 length by using some special

techniques. The authors strongly recommend the extension of rearing of this breed,

especially in household and semi-intensive farms. They also consider that this breed could

make up the genetic material to form in Romania the type of peasant chicken known as

"Label Rouge".

The aim of this paper was to study the degree in which the differences in the genetic structure, has

an effect upon the dynamics and evolution of primitive lane in the early embryogenesis in chickens.

The experiments were held on two genetics structures. With the help of one special technique,

during the 26-60 hours period of incubation, from ten to ten hours, measurements were made upon

the dimensions of the primitive lane. The data suggests that earlier stages of development and for

the embryos with a higher degree of heterozigocy there is a higher developmental speed

ABSTRACT Straw problem has come into existence nowadays, while the struggles for the quality the quantity in wheat production have been continuing. Straw; has been described as short residues which is left on the field often harvesting of field crops. Practically it is not possible to pick up the rooted straw from the field. In that case, it must conveniently be buried into the soil during ploughing. Since however, this is hard work to do, it is usually burned off. In order, thought these thoughts, to solve that would be formed in the soil by using tillage equipment. In the result of investigation, it has been determined that ploughs with front body have positive effects on most storage percent and amount of organic material in the soils. In addition, those ploughs, mentioned above have also effected physichal and chemichal characteristics of the soil. And they have also showed that strawy fields could be ploughed without burning.

In section 1 I discuss a necessary precursor to understanding ESP, the complexities of language and language learning. In section 2 I outline the nature of ESP. Then, in section 3,1 state the benefits of ESP courses. In section 4 I state the defects of two common sources of ESP training and finally, in section 5, I rut forward suggestions as to the way in which ESP courses produce the maximum benefit.

ABSTRACT

In the last years, in many countries there was changed from the MOET breeding schemes simulation and theoretic estimation of the genetic progress to the practical implementation in cattle breeding of the embiyotransfer and some connected biotechnologies. Now, at the world level there are applied two MOET breeding programmes: with MOET nucleus in testing stations ("centralized" MOET nucleus) and with MOET nucleus in elite farms ("dispersed" MOET nucleus). The aim of this study is to make a short presentation of some breeding programmes with "centralized" MOET nucleus, programmes which maximize the annual genetic progress by bull dams selection intensity increasing and generation interval decreasing on bull sires way (the bulls selection on descendents is possibly replaced by selection on collaterals). At the some time they allow a better operational control of all the activities developed within the nucleus.

Bucureşti ABSTRACT Classical breeding programmes in cattle are disadvantaged by the low reproductive

rate of females (in the the most cases, a cow gives birth to an only calf every year), so

the intensity of selection and bull dams contribution to the total genetic progress are

more diminished. At the some time, bulls selection on descendants increases the

generation interval, thus being limited the annual genetic progress. In the unfavourable

conditions of the cattle genetic breeding rate acceleration there were necessary some

alternative solutionss. Such a solution is the applying of the MOET reproductive

biotechnology in cattle breeding, a possibility analysed in this paper by presenting two

breeding programmes with MOET nucleus in elite farms (dispersed" MOET nucleus).

ABSTRACT

The sea buckthorn fruits are rich in vitamins C and E, fatty acids and sterols, carotenoids,

polyphenols, flavonoids having antioxidant action and being very important for health.

There were studied the sea buckthorn extracts obtained by cold pressing (UCP) and by

extraction with supercritical fluids (UCSF). There were studied the content of these

extracts in fatty acids, especially the 0)3 and co6 fatty acids using gas-chromatography (GC)

with flame ionization detector (FID). The extracts obtained by extraction with supercritical

fluids has a better CO6/Q)3 ratio.

ABSTRACT: In this paper we want to render evident the qualitative and quantitative structure of the birds'

population from an agricultural ecosystem from the territory of Darmdnesti parish. There were

discovered 56 species belonging to 9 orders. 41 species breed in the zone and stay always here

during summer and 15 species breed in the neighborhood and come in the zone only in search

food. The highest density has: House Sparrow (Passer domesticus), Starling (Sturnus vulgaris),

Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus), Red-backed Shrike (Lanius collurio), Crested Lark (Galerida

cristata), Quail (Coturnix coturnix) and Corn Bunting (Miliaria calandra), and the least

biomass: Starling (Sturnus vulgaris), House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) and Quail (Coturnix coturnix). 7 species are over dominant, 3 species are dominant and 46 species are

complementary. The most of species eat pests, which are dangerous for agriculture (insects,

rodents). Three species - White Stork (Ciconia ciconia), Red-backed Shrike (Lanius collurio)

and Corn Bunting (Miliaria calandra) belong to SPEC 2 category, 18 species belong to SPEC 3

category and 35 species are considered as NonSPEC.

ABSTRACT: Due to ravages caused by Trialeurodes vaporariorum West, and Bemisia tabaci G. (quarantine phytopaeugous) on ornamental plants and also due to the great resemblance between those two pests, it is certainly required to have a good knowledge about the biology and the harming impact of both species; it is necessary to take specific measures for the limitation of each specie under the harm economic threshold (and especially for Bemisia tabaci G.). This paper emphasis the main characteristics of the two pests, having as purpose the immediate determination of the possible attacks.

ABSTRACT

The biological methods used for the limitation of phytophaegous populations surfaced as a

necessity, following the un-rational usage of pesticides that became a real danger both for

humans and environment. The paper presents the most important biological methods used for the limitation of

phytophaegous populations under the harm economic threshold.

DIETARY FIBER AND ENERGY REGULATION

ABSTRACT: Dietary fiber has many functions in diet, one of which may be to aid in energy intake

control and reduced risk for development of obesity. The role of dietary fiber in energy

intake regulation and obesity development is related to its unique physical and

chemical properties that aid in signals of satiation and enhanced or prolonged signals

of satiety. Early signals of satiation may be induced through cephalic- and gastric-

phase responses related to the bulking effects of dietary fiber on energy density and

palatability, whereas the viscosity- producing effects of certain fibers may enhance

satiety through intestinal-phase events related to modified gastrointestinal function and

subsequent delay in fat absorption. The goal of this paper is to provide a brief overview

of the role of dietary fiber in energy intake regulation, highlighting the relationship

between fiber properties and physiologic action.

ALLICIN FROM FRESH GARLIC NATURE'S ORIGINAL

ABSTRACT

Garlic one of the edible plants, which has generated a lot of interest throughout human

history a medicinal panacea. A wide range of microorganisms including, bacteria,

fungi, protozoa and viruses have been shown to be sensitive to crushed garlic

preparations. Moreover, garlic has been reported to reduce blood lipids and to have

anticancer effects. Chemical analyses of garlic cloves have revealed an unusual

concentration of sulfur-containing compounds (1—3%). A quick search of the medical

database reveals that garlic is top of the league for published research papers that

cover a wide variety of disease conditions, the most prevelant of which are its

significant antimicrobial properties.

ABSTRACT

Research was carried out in the breeding field in ICDP-Brasov at the 540m altitudine

duringtg the 2003-2004, on a chernozem soil, with a pH(H20) 5,8, profile texture is

clayey sand ground with a medium exchangeable phosphorus (41ppm) and well

supplied in exchangeable potassium (164 ppm). Experimental variants have been

harvested on plots of 6 sq.m in 4 replications. Birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus L)

varieties were studied and analysed at /lowering and the third regrowth .Chemical

composition (crude protein, cell wall constituent), organic matter digestibility and

energy concentration ( by milk feed units/kg.DM) were determinated Mean results

showed small differences between varieties regarding to the crude protein content, at the

first cycle and regrowth. Significant differences between varieties for cell wall

constituents (NDF, ADF), DMO and MFU (g/kg DM), especially at the first harvesting,

have been obtained.

ABSTRACT:

The wasp of the plum stones developes a generation for an year spends the last age

inside the fallen stones on the sill surface. From the total number of larvae 37,7 per

cent have fallen in the pause of two yaers, and 15,9 per cent have died because of the

unfavorable development conditions. The impupation period lasted 35-47 days because

of the temperature fluctuation during the March and Avril months. For going au the

females gnaw some orifices with the diameter of 1,5 mm and the males 1,2 mm. The

first males appearance was registered the 5 th of May but the first females were the 10

nd of May, 5 days later. A on the appearing of the first females it is necessary to

accomplish chemical treatments. The mass fly of the adults was registered in the first

ten days of may but the number of females was to bigger then the number of males.

ABSTRACT

This paper has included in a complex study that has looked into parasitoid insects which

limits defoliators Lepidoptera species of cabbage crops. The study was carried out in

South East of Romania in 1998-2001. The complex of primary parasitoids associated

with characteristic defoliators Lepidoptera in cabbage crops is given. Five primary

parasitoids are identified for Pieris brassicae L., eight for Pieris rapae L., four for

Mamestra brassicae L. and nine for Plutella xylostella L.

ABSTRACT:

The superovulation treatments were made by using FSH (400 mg NIH-FSHp), gestagen

hormones andPgF2a. The treatment with FSH begun in the 5th day, from the subcutaneous

Norgestomet implant introduction, by administrating 50 mg of pituitary extract of FSH

at 12 hours interval. With the last two FSH doses were administrated 25 mg Lutalyse.

The Norgestomet implants were redrawn in the 9th day from the introduction. The embryos

were nonsurgically collected in the 7th

day from the induced estrus.

The average number of viable embryo collected per donor cow was 6.2. The majority of the

embryos (75.8%) were in blastocyst stage of development. The viable embryos were

classified as follows: code 1 (46.8%), code 2 (33.9%) and code 3 (19.3%). The unviable

embryos (code 4) were degenerated embryos (55.5%), embryos delayed in development

(27.8%) and unfertilized ovocites (16.7%).

ABSTRACT:

The oestrus was synchronized using the Ovsynch (2.5 ml GnRH- day 0; 25 mg PgFia -

the 7th day; 2.5 mg GnRH- the 9th

day; at 16-18 hours from A.I.) and Cosynch Programs

(2.5 ml GnRH -day 0; 25 mg PgF2a - the f day; 2.5 mg GnRH +A.I. the 9"' day). The

conception rates after the first A.I. were 30-40 %. It seems that the conception rates in

heifers are higher compared with the ones in cows.

ABSTRACT

The experiments presented in this paper were performed during the year 2004,

within the Territorial Inspectorate for Seeds and Sowing Material Quality Control

- Alba, department Sibiu.

After the preliminary laboratory tests, we have concluded that the germination of

angelica seeds is influenced by the place, duration and modality of seeds storage and

their stratification at cooling.

ABSTRACT

When initiating any agricultural culture by direct sowing, an outmost importance has the

quality of the sowing material. This paper presents our results concerning the germination

capability of the Angelica archangelica L. seeds.

The conclusion we drown based on our experiments is that the place the seeds to be

gathered are situated on the inflorescence has an outmost importance for both the

amount of viable seeds, and for a high germination capability.

ABSTRACT The Angelica genus is represented by vigorous herbaceous species, biannual or perennial, from

the family of Umbeliferae (Apiaceae), order Araliales, subclass Rosidae, class Magnolitae

(Dycotiledonatae), division Magnoliophyta (Angiospermatophyta), sub-regnum Cormobiota. The plants are very vigorous, 1 -1.5 m tall (sometimes over 3 m), inform of a bush (in the first

year only with basal leaves; this can be perpetuated for the second and third year, if the plant

grows in unfavorable conditions). The species of the Angelica genus are characterized by a high ecological plasticity, widely

spread in areas with large precipitations amounts (over 600 mm per year), with soil temperatures between 3 - 15°C and a high air humidity. The culture medium used for the multiplication consisted of MS basal medium (Murashige and

Skoog, 1962), containing 6% sucrose, 0,5% agar and supplemented with K 9 ml/l + 0,4

ml/lAIA, K 0,2 mlA and ANA 0,1 mg/I.

ABSTRACT

Grazing systems are comple and involve a large number of processe, some of them with

important feed - backs. The grazing experiment on temporary grassland was sown with

11 new varieties: 338 C, Mdgurele 4,5.6,; S10, T10, 12, 13, Magurele 523, Mdgura420,

L3 and 11 registered varieties: Transilvan, Tampa, Postdvar, Inedit, Brio, Feruma,

Pastoral, Poiana, Mara, Favorit and Transilvania. The average liveweight gain at

pasture was 730 g. The new varieties with high dry matter yields and good

consumability were: 338 C; Magura 420; Magurele 523 and Magurele 6. Evolution

perspectives of local schemes have been thought to improve compatibility between

environment and models of farming system adaptation.

SUMMARY: Byological cycle of certain snout-beetle species (Coleoptera: Curculionoidea) from the Aries River basin and the upper course of the Somesul Cald River In the studied area the snout-beetles were observed by us in the adult stage from April until November, with a numerical peak in June (289 species), May (245 species) and July (209 species). The monovoltine species were present in a high percentage (88,8%), the other categories being poorly represented. We have studied the appearance of the adults for some species of: Protapion, Catapion, Hemitrichapion, Cyanapion, Oxystoma, Eutrichapion, Otiorhynchus, Liophloeus, Sitona, Eusomus, Polydrusus, Nedyus, Anthonomus, Rhynchaenus, Curculio, Magdalis and Acalyptus.

ABSTRACT:

Festoon - Zerynthia polyxena Schiff. - is insect which to be registered as a rare species

and disappearing of R. Moldova. Species Zerynthia polyxena Schiff. included in the

"Red Book" of Moldova. It occurs because, the insect eats on foodplant, birthwort, which naturally occurs in scrub and particularly amongst cultivated vineyards. And

birthwort grows in cultivated plantations. During mechanized operations on destruction

of weeds, birthwort also destroy. It leads to reduction of plants on which the insect eats.

For protection of a disappearing species, it is necessary to inform the population. As

many people catch insects for collections, or is simple with curiosity, because Festoon is very beautiful insects. Places where they develop to take under states protection. To

grow up an insect in laboratories and to let out in the nature.

YIELD AND QUALITY OF DURUM WHEAT UNDER DIFFERENT NITROGEN MANAGEMENT IN DIFFERENT CLIMATE

ABSTRACT The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the influence of various forms and amount of nitrogen fertilizers on grain yield and technological quality of durum wheat winter form Triticum durum Desf. (Istrodur and Martondur variety). Field trial was conducted in 2001-2004 at experimental base of Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. During the trial period, the very different weather conditions (rainfall) were observed. The three years results confirmed statistically high significant influence of climate conditions on yield and all technological quality parameters. The contribution of year to yield variability was 96.03%. Out of all fertilization levels, the significant influence on technological quality was observed only with highest nitrogen dose (120kgN.ha~

I) for grain vitreosity. We found

different variety reaction to fertilization in different climate conditions. The achieved results show, that for significant increase of technological quality parameters it would be needed to apply higher nitrogen amounts. The use of organomineral fertilizers Nitrohum increased yield and some technological quality parameters of durum wheat.

ABSTRACT:

This work approaches the subject of legumes inoculation in order to improve the

nitrogenfixing capacity. In the first part of the experiment, the Rhizobium strains were

cultivated on media indicated in the literature as optimal for bacterial growing and

development in laboratory conditions. Afterwards, the Rhizobium strains that have grown

and accumulate biomass were tested in different conditions of pH and salinity. The

biomass accumulation was determinate by spectrophotometer. The obtained values

shown that the Rhizobium strains tested can be used to inoculate the legumes cultivated

on acid, basic and alkaline soils.

SUMMARY: The programme "Sibiu - Capital of European Culture 2007" is, considering it's dimension, it's development period and it's impact of public communication, the most important cultural programme organized and developed in Romania. The tourist associations and the local authorities are struggling for this programme to become successful In this framework, the rural and montane area have to receive special attention regarding the supplied accommodation possibilities and free time activities. Introducing forms of practicing physical exercises in the tourist services supply represents an opportunity which could substantially contribute to intensify the attractiveness and the economical efficiency of agrotourism and rural tourism.
