PARKING LOT SAFETY COMMITTEE

The Governing Board has decided to form a com-mittee to study parking lot safety. The purpose of the committee will be to study the issues regarding safety in our parking lot. This committee will rec-ommend what action should be taken to improve

safety in the lots. We are seeking three volunteers to join this commit-tee. Volunteer hours will be awarded and the committee will meet for a couple of hours once a month. The target is to make recommendations to the Governing Board in April or May. The safety and well-being of our students is of the upmost im-portance. This committee will serve as a crucial step in improv-ing safety for everyone. Please email Scott Buchler, Governing Board President at [email protected] if you are interested in joining the committee.

ACS LIFELONG LEARNING SCHOL-ARSHIP We are seeking volunteers to help with scoring of applications for the ACS Lifelong Learning Scholarship. A $1,000 scholarship is awarded every year to a high school senior who was a

graduate of Academy Charter School. Any time spent scoring these applications, can be counted as volunteer time. If you would like to help with this important process, please email Scott Buchler, Governing Board President at [email protected].

DRESS CODE POLICY REVIEW COMMITTEE The Dress Code Policy Review Committee will have its final meeting of this school year on March 13th. If you have a Dress Code item that needs to be reviewed for

approval, please complete the attached form and submit to the ACS Front Office no later than March 6th. (The form can also be found on the GB page of the ACS website.) Any items re-viewed by the Dress Code Policy Review Committee will be brought before the Governing Board at their regular monthly meeting, and a recommendation will be made. The Governing Board will then render their decision and the family will be noti-fied.

Please mark your calendars to join us at our reg-ular monthly meetings, which are generally held

on the SECOND WEDNESDAY of the month at 7pm in the ACS Cafeteria, unless otherwise not-

ed. More Governing Board information can be found on the GB Bulletin Board right outside the

Cafeteria. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend at least 1 Governing Board meeting this school year!
