How it works

1. After the user has blown into the mouthpiece for 5 seconds, the sampling pump piston actuates pulling a small sample of the users breath into the alcohol sensor.

2. If alcohol is present in the breath sample than an electrochemical reaction occurs inside the sensor which then produces an electrical current

3. The electrical current is calculated and converted to a breath alcohol concentration result. The higher the current, the higher the alcohol concentration in the breath sample.
