The eccentr ic i tY of the s leeve(37) enables one to swing thepinion (35) out of the rack(36), when dismant l ing ei therthe longi tudinal or t ransversesl ides.

The weight of the vert icals l ide is comPensated for bY aspiral spr ing, mounted insidethe machine column.

The tension of th is sPr ing isadjustable.fo ef fect th is adjustment,insert the Al len KeY in thesocket of the shaft ( I2) . Pushinwards as shown bY the arrow,holding the key f i rmJ-Y toavoid a raPid unwinding of thespr ing when the housi-ng (39)is f reed from the retainS-ngscrew (4o). Turn the key inthe reguired direct ion andwhen the sPr ing tension iscorrect , f lease the axialpressure so that the screw(4o) engages another hole inthe housing (39).
