ACI Asia-Pacific Environmental Survey
Introduction
This 2017 Environmental Survey is developed by ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Environment Committee (REC)
for ACI Asia-Pacific Region. The objectives of the survey are:
To develop an environmental activity database of ACI Asia-Pacific airport members ; and
To help environmental managers to do their jobs better by learning from the experience of other airports.
Information provided by each respondent will be kept strictly confidential and will not be disclosed to any other
party without your prior consent. The performance information of individual airport will be used only for
analysis, and will be presented on aggregated level in a summary report produced by ACI Asia-Pacific; only
aggregated results could be used by ACI Asia-Pacific for survey promotion and environmental advocacy
purposes. No ranking of individual airport will be generated from this survey or shown in the summary report.
Survey Instructions
Below are a series of questions that relate to the ten core environmental aspects that airports need to manage.
1. Environmental Policy and Management (including green procurement)
2. Noise
3. Air quality
4. Waste
5. Water (including both municipal water usage and wastewater discharge)
6. Energy
7. Carbon
8. Biodiversity
9. Ground transportation
10. Land & water contamination
Please check the appropriate box(es) and fill in the information requested in the space provided. Additional
space is provided at the end of each section for you to i) tell us about other environmental initiatives not
addressed in this survey and ii) provide any supplementary information on the subject in that section.
Unless otherwise specified, “airport” in this survey refers to airport operator only. If any particular
measures and initiatives included in this survey are not under the direct responsibility of your airport,
you can state the responsible party, and briefly explain its role, where necessary, in the „Remarks‟ box
at the end of each section.
Your answers should reflect the state of activities currently at your airport. Do not include planned activities
unless specifically asked. Please note this is a general survey, it is not necessary that you enter exact
numbers for every question. Figures can always be rounded up to the nearest digit. Thank you.
