The 2016 Achievement Night has
been set for November 3rd, 7 pm in the
Juab County Center Cultural Hall.
Many outstanding youth and adults
will be honored at this program. A
display table will also be set up 15
minutes before the program starts
which will showcase our members’
portfolios.
We encourage all of you to attend
and see the many 4-H awards available
in Juab County. 4-H portfolios can also
be picked up at this time.
Awards will be presented to the fol-

You and I Cooking
Cooking is a wonderful way
to introduce healthy foods and
making healthy choices to chil-
dren. Thursday, October 27,
9:30 am in the Extension kitch-
en. For four and five year olds
and their guardians.
This material was funded by
USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition
Assistance Program—SNAP.

4-H teaches youth leadership, citi-
zenship, and life skills using a
‘learn by doing’ approach. It is an
educational program that pro-
vides wholesome, fun activities for
youth. 4-H is a nationwide pro-
gram offered locally through your
Utah State University Extension
office. Who can join? Cloverbuds:
grades K-2, and 4-H members:
grades 3-12 (and age 8).
Directions
Combine first five ingredients in
a medium bowl. Add mayonnaise
and Greek yogurt to the chicken
mixture; stir. Cover with plastic
wrap, and chill chicken salad in
the refrigerator at least 1 hour.
Just before serving, line cones
with lettuce; fill with chicken
salad. Makes 4 servings.
Did You Know?
Cake cones are baked from
batter poured into molds.
The first molded cones had
pointed bottoms.
The most common molded
cones now have flat bottoms.
The little ribs on the outside
of the cake cones make them
Ice cream cones that aren’t
sweet, ironically called “cake”
cones, make fun, edible serving
containers for salads. Fill them
just before eating so the cones
will stay crisp.
Chicken Salad in a Cone
1 (9.75 ounce) can chunked
chicken, drained
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1/4 cup shredded carrots
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup dry roasted peanuts,
chopped
1/4 cup Greek plain yogurt
1/4 cup mayonnaise
4 cake ice cream cones
Romaine or shredded iceberg
lettuce

Crafty Clovers Christmas Club
Join us to create crafty gifts
from repurposed items just in time
for the holidays. Saturday, De-
cember 3, 4-H age (8 and 3rd
grade and up) session: 9 am to
noon. Clover bud (K—2nd grade)
session: noon to 2 pm. Extension
kitchen. $12 fee, pre-registration
