Meals on Wheels Scholarship Hale County Meals on Wheels, Inc. awards scholarships to a senior student who is pursuing higher education and who meets the criteria listed below. Awards are based solely on the number of volunteer hours accumulated with our organization. Hours may be accumulated by students during their junior and senior year. Stu-dents can begin accumulating hours at the first of their junior year – so they have all that year and the summer after their junior year to get their hours in. Hours that count toward this scholarship must be performed between September 1, 2017 through April 15, 2019. You must take responsibility for keeping up with the dates and hours of your volunteer service and turn in the attached log to the scholarship committee. Dates and hours will be verified by the committee. All public, private, and homeschooled students living in Hale County are eligible for the scholarship.

Dear 4-Hers and Parents,

Hale County would like to reward members for hard work throughout the 2018-2019 season. Enclosed is a requirement

list to receive the two rewards. The first reward is an exciting ‘End of the Year’ trip decided by Hale County 4-H Council.

This trip will be well worth a little hard work. This trip is for all ages who meet the simple requirements. The trip will be

completely funded by Hale County. This trip is to encourage everyone to come to the meetings and be active in your club.

The second reward is a check to reward members for their hard work throughout the 2018-2019 season who have partici-

pated in Hale County and District 2 contests. As most of you know, it can get expensive competing in district contests.

Hale County would like to thank all of those who have been active through the Hale County Fashion Show, Food Show,

Share-the-Fun, Roundup, Entomology, Quiz Bowls, Shooting Sports, and so many other fun and rewarding activities.

Therefore, if you turn in your required form by June 28, you will receive a check for the amount of the District 2

contests you paid out throughout the year at the Awards Banquet 2019. This is to encourage everyone to sign up for

all those fun events and know it will be rewarded at the end.

Required forms for both rewards need to be turned into the Extension Office by June 28. Effective this year: use contests

and events occurring between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019. If the contest fall after July 1, please put it on the next

year’s incentive form.

We appreciate every member of 4-H and we want to give back, especially to those who try new things and making a dif-

ference to “Make the Best Better.”

Sincerely,

Hale County 4-H
